My SC'ed 93 GT Mustang Vs. a modded 96 Z28 w/nitrous
I ran into a local 96 Z-28 a few weeks ago, the local shop that did has been saying it is the fastest Camaro in town. 96 Z-28, 6spd, shorty headers, y-pipe, catback, MAF, TB, HPPIII, and a 100 shot of nitrous with all suspension mods done but stock gears(he said 3.73's though??!!). I found him coming out of Subway one day. I got behind him and he nailed it! We went down a twisty road, I was on him good. We finally got to a stop and as soon as he nailed it I was on it behind him. He got sideways and I was all over the place! As soon as I got traction I pulled up a full car then had to let off so I didn't hit him. Did it again with same outcome. Talked to the guy after, cool dude. Too bad he wasted his $$ at that "shop". He said he gave it all he had, and was blown away by my car and that it only had a SC and exhaust. There is no way it would beat either of my friends LS1's..no way. I can't believe that "shop" says it has 475hp!!!!!????

The guy has no bottle warmer or n2o pressure guage though. Maybe he was not even getting "full" 100 hp when I raced him. From my experience, a warmer is almost manditory for good bottle pressure.
absolutely. bottle pressure is the most important thing when it comes to nitrous. and if you dont have a warmer, its very hard to get the ideal pressure. anything under 900psi and youre wasting your time Senior Member

Don't forget programmin. Hypertech is fine for a stock car but not a modifed one, especially on the spray. He needs to either program it himself(LT1 Edit) or have someone else do it.
I know from my own experience with just a cam change that a programmed ECM was worth more than .3 sec over the Hypertech. Even more when I started doing my own tuning.

thats funny as chit!
christ thats maybe 1000 bucks worth of parts if that. sounds like they raped that guy. i'd be a bit pissed to pay 2000 2500 bucks and only get 45-65 hp and a cheap shot of juice.

Sounds like his sideways car has no suspension mods or he doesn't know how to drive or that is not a 100 shot like everyone else said. Could also be a combo of these problems. Poor LT1
