92 RS vs. Civic
Ok, yesterday i was driving home from the ATV shop cuz i want to buy a Banshee, and this civic (i hatchback i dunno what year, and dont care either.) pulled next to me at a light at he reved, the streets were empty at teh time, tho we didnt go. now i have a mildley modded 305 it has hollowed cats, hedman shortys, flowmaster muffle, Y-pipe, burned chip, K&N filter.
The civic from what i could see when i was next to it had a large APC sticker on the front windsheild, neon lights on the dash, a pretty big fart can (i saw that when he drove off after we were done) and a cheap wing (you know, the 30-hp kind not he 50 or 80.), outfitted with nice rims.
After getting to the next light from our staging point.
The ligth was red, i was tense, it was my first race im 17yrs. but when the light turned green all i could hear BEHIND me was BRAAAWWWW-bbrRrWAWWWW, louder then my car, but he was beat by what i estimated a single car length or so. when we was doen and got hit by another light ahead of us he turned right on red without saying a damn thing. the max speed we went was 62mph.
Later.

that's cool that you got to win your first race, and probably even better showing that guy that v-8 cars will usually get the leading edge for the price to power comparison. Now that you have a few good upgrades on your 305 you can keep up and beat a good amount of the "autozone import tuners" Good run

Lol, at least you won your first race! I got screwed on my first one! The guy I bought my car from left me what looked like drag radials on her and the night I bought her took her crusing with some of my friends. Well, pulled up to the turn lane getting on the freeway off Mill Ave. here in AZ and lined up with a brand-new V6 eclipse. I had the outside (good thing, might have hit a wall if I was on the inside) and when the light turned green we both went for it. Well, the eclipse went for it, I just sat there and spun my tires for 20 minutes. Once I got traction I almost caught it but it got off the freeway. Go figure!
Your gonna fit in quite nicely here on the boards...

Good job on the kill. See RS's aren't the slowest things on the road. It takes more than a fart can to run with a 305. Wow how wierd does that sound You won't hear me say that too often. I always got killed in my RS by other cars of various make. So when I got my 1995 Z I thought I had an edge, low and behold my first real race was against a thirdgen (to which I thought, ha ha the tides have turned). Well I raced probably the only heads and cammed 350 RS in town to which I lost, go figure

Since when does a 92 RS come with T-Tops?? Did they put those on? Or at least thats what i think i see in your pics. Your car looks exactly like mine with exception to the Z grill Z spoiler and fog lamps. Awesome kill by the way

AT least form a stop you can use every ounch of 305 power while the fourth gen spools up. I raced my roomates 2002 SS in my RS and it was just horrible what he did to me. Even my buddy's full heads and cammed and tuned 305 is no match for my 1995 Z.

I can usually do a good job of keeping up with them. Most of the time (mainly because of my T-5) I get them off the line and for the first 30-40 feet if nothing else. They usually do beat me but I'm proud of my lil' 305 for its efforts...

Exactly. I know my car isn't the fastest thing on 4 wheels. And from the looks of it, you have the EXACT same car I do, so you really know what I'm talking about. Honestly though, I love watching LS1s kill me, but I love even more the look on the 4.6 Mustang Crew's faces when I BEAT them....

tru dat tru dat. I passed one the other day (1996 or 1997 GT) that had a sticker in the back saying "the faster I drive the more she likes it." We went from a roll and I happened to be in the Z, needless to say I put many many lengths on him.
