First let me say hi to all, i am new to this site. OK down to business, there is a prelude drivin around with the normal 500 horsepower in graphics and stickers and of course fart can, but it also has a turbo. I don't know the year, guessin mid 90's maybe. Do you guys think i would be able to at least make this a good race once my car gets that cam and gears in it to go along with what is done to it already.

much thanks,
chris

Its hard to say, depends on how modded the Prelude actually is. Since it has a turbo, I would definitly try to find out more info on it. I think you should go with a slightly larger cam then the stock LT1 cam though. Good Luck!

First off we need to know what year the lude is. Does it have the very square head lights or the narrow rectangular ones? That will give some starting point. If its the square headlights then it is atleast (with out the aftermarket turbo) a 190hp vtech powered car good for at the very best about 15.1. Now the average driver+ wear and tear+being on the street or just elevation= mid 15's to at worst low 16's (if he can't shift and never gets into the vtechs band). So figure if it is the v-tech motor (all of the square headlights, 97? and up, got that motor. before that it was and option with the standard being a 140hp plain jain 4cyl), + a turbo you will have some serious catching up to do if he can actually get traction (fwd sucks for serious power. Go watch a turbo charged Saab Viggan go around a corner under power or off the line and you will see what i mean) These are all estimates and times i have seen so not neccesarily 100% accurate, but with out alot of specifics its as close as anyone can get.

I believe that it has the small rectangular headlights, but not for sure. i have to go from just memory and its been a couple of months since i've seen it. but that ***** is my main target its the only one so far that was able to pull on me.

So it looks like this one?

If so then it could be the base at 135hp, si or se at 160hp or the vtech model at 190.

Just race him and see how you do. If it's been months since you've seen his car, he could've done a few more mods.

Just remember, those cars are ususally lighter than american cars and it doesn't take much to get them moving. You certainly have the torque advantage. Just race'em, there's no shame in the game. You can't beat everybody.

All this is true. When summer roles around i'll take out the camaro and i'll find out who is faster until then i was just lookin for some opinions, and i beleive i've found them, and keep em comin. When i do finally find this guy again( in the camaro of course, cause right now i have a mud covered 89 blazer with 169,000 miles on it that i'm driven) i'll let you all know what happens.

thanks again
