they run 16s, a 2.8 runs 20s or something around there, I doubt it'd lose, the newest ones with a manual and beefed up motor run mid 14s

What year accord? If it is anything from the late 90's you will get murdered. That car probably weighs the same as yours but has more power. They are slow cars but compaired to yours they are faster. Sorry bout that and I am not taking anything away from your car, so no offense. Especially stay away from the new ones unless you have at least a full bolt on 305. now get him in the twisties and you'll show him whats up.

no offense but I doubt he was racing, this is actually a case where a honda HAS a larger motor than you do, they are slow, but not 2.8 slow, they are more 305 slow

If your car was in great condition, you might see a 17 or an 18 second time slip.

If it was a new accord, weather the 6spd or not he would eat you alive. Hell, the new Accord v6's with the 6spd and optional motor are running 14.5's @ 98mph!!! Thats damn near a properly working L98. Mines not, but hey. Ignorance will kill you. Find out what year accord it is. Don't be ignorant, just because you have a F-body doesn't mean you will automatically win.

If you ever see a Subaru Forrester XT, don't try to race it unless you are a low 14 second car. Damn things run 13.8's @ 100mph!

Owning a F-body means that you have good taste though.

It's no fun picking on imports anymore (since I built the new motor). It's hard to find a good race with a comparable car(otherwise it's just wasting gas)!

Kills worth noting: '02 Z06 , and 2 different '03 Cobra's (the Z06 was a closer race).

I dont even count mustang GT's or stock LS-1 cars as kills (no competition and a dime a dozen).

Correct. Unless the LT1 is in a muuuucchhhh lighter car. Lets say a Miata or s-10. I have seen an LS1 swap into a Miata before. That car must haul like no tommorow. But in the same exat car the LS1 makes more power and is significantly faster.

Sorry I'm a little late to the post, but i'm gonna agree more with Bill (fruityOne) and tend more to disagree with shiftyCapone. The thirdgen, betting your bottom dollar, weighs alot more than an accord. If it was a new accord it is all plastic as opposed to his car which is primarily steel molded.
The lauch on those accords would throw you for a loop. i myself have a hard time shaking off a car of that magnitude, modded or not with my 3.4L. I raced some guy in traffic once in a WRX 2-door. I hung with him, but I know damn well he coulda blasted me if he wanted to.

I used to have a 82' Berlinetta Camaro with a 2.8L in it. I was destroyed by my friends Accord and it wasnt even a V6. I say you will probablly loose.

Okay, a 2.8 in a 3000+ pound car with 18" rims. I think the Accord hasthis one pretty easily, no offense, thats just how it is. I would wait till you get the LS1 to go after street races!

If you're in a postion where you can...I would keep the 2.8 Camaro and modify it sensibly and get ANOTHER Camaro (or something like it if that's what you like) and build it from the ground up.

Find a shot v8 F-body with as much of the stuff ALREADY there as possible. There's too many people that get v6 cars, drop v8s in them, and think that's ALL that needs to be done. Personally, I would get a second generation and find an old 454...

Keep the v6 around for mileage. When you modify it, make it faster, but keep an eye on economy with it.

There's nothing wrong with having more than one car and that one may come in handy.
