a while back i posted about a guy at my work with a 96 Mustang GT well we raced and he didnt get me until about 90mph i have now added headers,and a perma cool trans cooler should i run him in round 2 or do some more mods?

I would go ahead and run him again, as long as there is no cash on the line, and he's not gonna just rub it in if he does beat you, does he have any mods on his 4.6?

well can u feel a power change since u added headers? headers can/can not make much difference...
if u feel a shift in power, i would race him.

Race him. Your car is thanking you for those headers. True it is on a 305 TBI but it will still help make power everywhere under the curve. I say he will lose this time and have no chance of pulling even or ahead.

Do you two run a quartermile or a mile? Why not just spray him and keep him guessing what you did to your car? The '96-'98 GT were low on power. What do you do if you run a 235 rwhp '99 or later GT with factory PI heads

? we raced until like 100 or so.when i cracked on my car after installing the headers it felt like it pulled more up top rather than out the whole.when we raced the first time i nailed him thru first and second than third he caught up to me.my question now is how comes the car pulls better up top by adding headers?

headers = more exhaust flow for each seperate exhaust valve...

ok guys round #2 DING DING
like we did before we waited on the side of the road for the light to turn yellow.(we went from the SAME light too as before).we pull up to it and i turn the BFGs over a bit to get em a little sticky.after i do this he laughs.We got lined up and i bring it up to 2200.i pull the B&M down to first and stare deep at the red light.BAM green pops on.Off the brake,hammer on the gas.I get some squeel from the BFGs but not much,he too is squeeling.Shift light comes on a hit the B&M and wham comes second gear.i glance over and hes 2 1/2 cars back!!! .But at this time were only at 75mph and still goin now last time he got me when i hit third.I run second out then the shift light comes on i take a big gulp and hammer third.i glance back over and hes still 2 1/2 cars back!! .Now im grinnin from ear to ear as 90...95...100.. comes along and im out front and he aint catchin.i finally let off at 105.We stop at the gas station down the street and hes hot.i gave hime credit where credit was due and told him look at it this way.your car is almost stock mine aint.But all in all you just lost to perhaps the worst small block chevy ever made and to top it off its TBI i told him remember the phrase "The Mighty LO3" i cant wait to hear what hes got to say to everyone at work on monday

Cause a 305 isn't really fart restricted in the lower rpm range but up top it starts wanting to fart alot more often and needs a way to get it out quickerOriginally posted by Dennis91RS

ahhhhhh, nothing more soothing than hearing a mustang getting his a$s handed to him by a thirdgen..
almost better than a nicd cold budweiser
now the twist, a mustang handed his a$s with a 305, way past the pleasure of a cold beer...
