Turbo 200SX

I ran into this buzzbomb today on my lunchbreak. It was red, look to be mid 90s or so, tiny little thing. Anyway it was fairly clean and not riced too much, but I did notice the humongo FMI jammed into the front bumper as he pulled up next to me. He kept letting in and out so I could hear his BOV go psshhh, psshhh, psshhh We were on the highway, only doing about 55 with almost no traffic so I decided to go for it. I roll my window down and look over. He's got a big grin on his face. I hold up three fingers and he nods. I honk 1, 2, and he nails it before I get to three So I lay into in 2nd and catch right up to him and pass him easily. By the time I hit 3rd I had about a car or so on him and gained another 2 or 3 cars before I let off at 115/120. I slowed and so did he - I was shocked as I was expecting a fly-by. He pulled up next to me and gave a nod and a thumbs up! I did the same. Then he took off and I just watched... Finally, a decently quick non-**** import car with a cool owner.

I do have a question though... Whats the specs on these cars? Engine type, power, acceleration times? Stock of course. Who knows what he had done.

The 200SX was only made 95-99 I beleive. They were never turbo from the factory. The engine is a SR20DE, which is similar, minus the turbo, to the JDM SR20DE-T from the Silvia. A built SR20 isn't something to take lightly, if it's done right.

Cool kill and nice to see a actual not " R!ced " car. Very few Import " racers " ( i use that term lightly, but it's for cars done correctly, the ones who are NOT R!CE ).

Looking at the import supercars ( RX7, Skyline, Supra ) you see they all have one thing in common. Turbos, those cars just cant make it with out Forced Induction, but that also means 2 things. They are very easy to make them very fast and they cost alot to upgrade. Heck i have seen time slips of mid 11 evo's already and that's with a Stage 2 tuning and a bad driver ( not professional driver, so makes you wonder ).

Import guys want to embarass V8 cars with their turbo fours. It's a fact of life. Checkout www.200sx.org or www.240sx.org for more info on these cars.

I don't believe they were ever turbo from the factory, so it was probably aftermarket, stock, they are pretty slow, my girl raced one in her focus and beat it by about a 1/4 of a car, so they're not that great stock, but great kill anyways!!!

You should have been out last night! I was out on Ritchie around 11:30 and there were more cars out than I've seen in a long time. No cops, and no traffic.

I lost to a bolt on LS1 SS from a roll.
I lost to a bolt on 03 Cobra from a roll, he wouldn't race from a stop I ran this guy after he barely beat the above mentioned SS from a slow roll. After the SS saw my luck with the snake he wanted a piece of me.
I beat a WRX from a stop and roll.
I beat a 350Z from a roll.
I ran into an LT1 that wouldn't bite.
I refused a race to a DSM after he showed me what an 11 second car looks like from a 40 roll - I didn't want any after that
I think I was the only 80's car out there. I didn't see any 5.0s, and certainly no other 3rd gens. And I've never seen so many modded C5s in my LIFE!

BTW - anyone want to loan me a few hundred dollars so I can finally put these AFRs on that are sitting in my room so I can start laying down the law...
