Who do you think will win...

Just checked out a car today that I'm suppose to race soon. His car is a 64 El Camino with a munci 4 speed, 4.10 gears out back and a 350 for an engine. Not sure of the cam he's running but it's a roller, 11.5:1 compression, Pro Topline 220cc 72cc aluminum heads, dual Holley 400s on a tunnel ram intake, MSD 6AL box with a 2 step deal on it (4700 low 7400 high) stocker looking GM dist. No nitrous, he's got some regular 26" radial TA tires in the back that'll spin for days but he might be getting sticky tires before the race. Oh and I noticed the pill he had in the shift light was set for 6,800 rpm hehe.

My car has a 350, vic jr intake, 750 speed demon, 6" eagle rods, 294 solid lifter cam, 10:1 compression, MSD 6AL box, Pro-billit dist, blaster 2 coil, AFR 195 with the 68cc chamber, TH400 with the 3,000 stall. Not yet in the car is a ford 9 inch with 4.56 gears and posi, also I'll be running Hoosier QT pros. My car pulls good till at least 7k so that'll be really tested with those gears.

Neither of us have taken our cars to the track so it's just a big guess on who will come out on top. Friend of mine says I shouldn't have a problem though Any thoughts? I'll post results and maybe a video after it happens.

My question is why is he running 220cc heads on a 350 unless he's making some serious power or its completely mismatched.

With the gears and slicks you'll be running you'll have no problem out of the hole. But I'd be careful with this one.

Sounds

Sounds a little fishy, unless the guy doesn't know how to build a motor. If he's running 11.5 Compression, and has a cam that will allow enough flow for those heads, you're gonna have a problem.

Looks all miss matched to me. Says it runs slower with the setup he has on now than whatever he had before and it's a dog to drive around town. Does have a super vic and 850 in the garage but who knows if it'll go on before the race. I'll have my nitrous ready to go just incase The cam didn't sound all that big to me, I'll have to try and get that bit of info out of him

He let a buddy of mine and I have a look at the car Just pulled up and popped the hood. He's new in the area and looking for races. Out of my group of friends that race, I'm 2nd slowest hehe, next car up runs 11.50's on the motor and the car after that runs in the 10's. Probably wont be any money on the line, maybe just lunch At any rate, it'll be fun if nothing breaks.

No race yet, it's been set up for next month. Hope I get the 9 inch in the car next week lol Decided on a Currie 9" stage 1 rear just because it'll be a faster swap with having drum brakes with the package. I can always change to disc later on

Well damn Ordered the 9 inch from Currie on Friday only to find out they're busy as hell and I wont have the rear for a month. Ah well, still gonna run the guy with my open 3.42 rear and street tires just for chits and giggles Maybe it'll be a smoke fest between us two cars lol

Hehe, the guy backed out... It was going to happen over the weekend but never did. Hopefully I'll get some more stuff done to the car before the next go around.
