3.1 Camaro v.s. Mazda MX6

well i was out crusing the stip this weekend and a little mx6 5 speed pulled up next to me and i could tell he wanted some. well i got on it a bit but didnt wanna race where we were so we toyed back and forth for a lap or so. well he rolled up next to me again and was like hey you really wanna run that thing. so i agreed to it cuz i wanted to see what my car could do now that its a manual(havent really tested it yet and its on a used clutch)

so we head out to a deserted road and line them up....

Race One: dumped the clutch at 3000 RPM spun for a few seconds but got a huge jump on him(gotta love that posi) looked in my mirror and he was way back, stupid *** missed second gear!! so i was like ok lets go again i really wanted to see what my car could do against it

Race Two: dumped it at 3000 RPM again same thing happened got a huge jump and looked bacck he missed second again....boy needs to learn how to freaking drive...one mor chance for him

Race Three: by this point my car has about had enough, but i pushed it a bit harder so i dumped it at 3500 this time. well no tire spin but it kinda fell on its face. either way got a good jump on him again. well he got the gears right this time but when i was going into 4th and 5th i had clutch slippage like nothing i have ever seen. it reved up to redline then the clutch caught. i lost a lot of my lead with that but still one by about a half a car lenght. needless to say i woudlve spanked him those first two races and the third was a win.

not to mention i just filled up my tank with gas lol....those must be just really slow i dunno...was fun either way

A good customer of mine has me work on hers, she's an enthusiast" So I asked her If I could take it for a spin (5 spd). All I have to say is, For a V6, It's slow. I'd be surprised if those things can even pull a 17 second 1/4. Good kill though, next time get his hood ornament...

yeah, mine is an Auto, and it is running mid 17s. Keep in mind, except for the K&N airfilter, and Cragar Street Star wheels, it is basically bonestock. Im hoping to improve my times if with the Dynomax Super Turbo Exhaust I'm gettin soon, or the 383 Stroker LT1 im gettin later on!

I own a 87 trans am 305 tpi with a 700r4 but my previous car was a 93 mx6. It runs a 15.7 which is a little slower than a 350 t/a gta with an auto.Ive hears its a 15.5. I walked my cousin who has an 83 z28 305 lg4 t-5 and 3.73s. My mazda was a 5 speed. the v6s are semi quick i beat alot of cars with mine with only a cold air intake, short throw shifter, and sway bars. I was stock whn i beat my cosuin. The first gens are 2.2 litre turbo and the sencond gens come with etheir a 2.5 litre v6 dohc 24 valve. with 164 hp and 162 lbs of ft trq or a crappy 4 cyl with like 115 on hp ( not sure on the trq. These cars are quick off the line and awesome little cars that are especially fun to drive on mountain roads. With a j spec engine (200 hp and 201 lbs of ft trq) they are low 15 high 14 second cars. And i could beat alot of v6 stangs and maros with my 6. Dont wanna step on any toes or call anyone a liar just wanted to let everyone know what i do lol. That guy couldnt drive that car.
