Raced a celica gt

Well I was leaving my buddies house and there was this chick pulling in the driveway with a newer black celica gt. My friend asked if she wanted to race, she didnt say anything, so I didnt think we were going to until we were backing out of the drive way and I waitied for her to move but she motioned for me to pull next to her. While i was backing up she took off so i floored it I was still on the gravel spinning like a mother ****er. Once i re gained control I passed em like they were in reverse and kept pulling farther up to about 85 when I had to slow down because my transmission is missing a couple gears and I was running a pretty high RPM.

The newer Celica GT's have a whooping 140 hp and 125 lb tq. I wouldn't really count that as a kill unless your car is really slow.

If you want a real challenge run against a Celica GT 5-speed w/TRD blower, or a Celica GTS 6-speed. Both cars run high 14's, sometimes even mid 14's.

a celica GTS will NOT run a high 14. I worked for toyota for 2 years and never will a celica of any kind from the factory run a high 14.

buddy of mine put down a 14.6 in his gts.. that was back when they first came out though (the new body style).. Dont remember his mods think he might have had a cold air intake which isnt much...

who cares where you worked doesnt make you the new toyota pimp...

Exactly. I've seen several GTS run high 14's. You have to be a good driver.

GOOD DRIVER?????? They have paddle shifters!!! A good driver has nothing to do with it. And when i did work at a toyota dealership i DROVE all the cars That We got in. Infact i put all of the third mile on them. I drove them to the gas station to fill them up when purchased. A CELICA GT-S WILL NOT RUN A HIGH 14!! Show me timeslips and pics of the car with the number on it and ill believe you. same with a new mr2 spyder.

you drove the car to the gas station? so now you know how fast they are... wow.. you dont even have enough time to figure out the cars shift points..
******* logic.. i drove it to the gas station it didnt feel like a 14 second car..

it was 2 yrs ago if not more when the celica gt-s first came out with the new body.. whatever the case i have no reason to lie..
me at the track and you driving to the gas station... you think you know how fast they are... i think 14's are possible.. 14.9 is still a 14 second run.. dont forget if you live some where with altitude you might see slower times as well buddy

Paddle shifters? Ummm... on the automatics, yes.
Try driving a 6-speed next time.

Go dig up your own time slips... www.dragtimes.com

Look it up yourself. Oh and by the way buddy, im at 300 ft above sealevel so figure 1 tenth off of what it will really run! The fastest toyota celica GTS stock i see in that list is a 16.5. So go eat SH*T. I know what i am talking about. I also never said i was a toyota pimp. Also one more thing is that i have driven both an auto and a six speed. Never will a 14.9 even come from ANY stock celica GTS.

Wow, you sure are anament and hostile about such a simple thing. Oh well, believe what you want to believe. Take care, bye bye now.

PS - The Celica that your quoting from on the link of yours is a 1986 Toyota Celica GT-S. Old, very old. In fact the newest Celica on that list of yours is a 1994. Whoops

I've heard of stock GTS's running mid 15's and a few low 15's but never high 14's. But then again I'm not real big on toyota celicas.

i never said the toyota celica i watched run was completely stock. he did have a cold air intake... you are trying to say a celica gt-s is a dog and in no way is it... When it first came out it was one of the quicker little sport compacts. I am in Phoenix, AZ the vehicle was not gutted. unless the guy was running a hidden sneaky pete or someting all he had was a cold air that i could see.. he was a good friend at the time so i doubt it but it wouldnt surprise me..

89305rs your web site doesnt work. but if what the above post says we are talking about a different generation of celica's not the 80' or the 90's model.

to be honest i hate the celica's but in no way are they crap sport compacts.

I never once said that they were crap. I said that there is no way that a celica GTS in stock form will run a 14 sec quarter mile. Hell ive beaten them in my 1996 S-10 with a 4.3 that ran a 15.6. I also ran a 14.0 with nitrous. I think he had more than a CAI to run a 14 sec quarter mile.
