Waste of time, boring and all talk. Thier still talking about the same stuff on the last page, as they are on the first page.

(imo), Ithink if the iroc is set up right he will get to the end first, however when the supra gets there it will be going faster(imo)

Thing is with a 2 mile track starting the race from a 100mph roll if they do get anywhere near 200 they are gonna go sailing right of the end of the runway. Thing about the IROC is it sure sounds like a car that would be set up as a drag car and 160 is probably all its got, this might expain the 2 mile strip thing cause he knows hell get shutdown in the long haul, but I guess thats why im so curious about this car, the fact that it might actually be a street/strip setup with ultra high top end capability just do to the fact that he would challenge someone to a top end race like that.

the thing is he can always put in taller gears, more stable high speed tires, and retune the suspension so in theory he can reach well over 200mph. however he has to worry about aerodynamics at that speed and a 3g is just not set up to go that fast so he may become unstable at that speed and get loose.

Thanx for that info. I was able to track the whole thing back to the beginning, and found that IROC. Unfortunately theres not much info on the car other than that it has a 572cu.in. engine, and has gone 8.78@156. Also the setup (gears, tires, etc.) will be altered for the top end race. I doubt this thing is ever goin down though... So much smack talk and the Supra seems to be perpetually in the shop getting more upgrades

Couple pics of the IROC

I have obviously never been anywhere near 200mph, but I have been well into the triple digits and have to say that I am very pleased with the high speed handling characteristics of my ride. I have noticed the tendency of the pressure, or drag whatever it is, causes the windows to start sucking out at high speeds. I wonder what that effect would be like at 200....hope he tapes up around the edges or something.

I understand exactly what you mean. I myself have been at extremely high speeds. however when you really start getting up there(150+) you have to start worrying about where all the air is gong around the car. i.e. in the wheel wells, through the rad, under the car, inside the body panels, and believe it or not, if you don't have enough downforce over the rear of the car the vaccume caused by the drag of the car will actully lift the rear end up and you will loose control.

(F-bodys are not the only cars I've had to lutacris speed)

p.s. 150mph is different in a drag car becouse your only there for a very short amount of time
