Tons of questions about street racing.

Alright some stupid questions, I am getting my z-28 wednesday or thursday ( https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=254418 )and I already have all these honda's lined up...and I started thinking.....I don't know how to race. I know its pretty straight forward.......but

1.) Feather low end not to loose traction or just roast em out? I am running 3.73 Posi

2.) My supercharger overspins at 38k but I don't have any paperwork or ideas on how to calculate overspin.....should I just shift at say 5grand? That is where the tac is already placed

3.) If I get caught am I screwed? Will I get impounded? I'm in texas....should I just flip off the headlights and run ?

4.) I called the previous owner on the title (not the guy that built the motor) and ask him what it ran in the quater and such, he said he took it to the track 3 or 4 times and the best time was 11.20 (evening race) and something like 10.96 adjusted for sea level.......thats crazy as hell I haven't ever been in a car below a 13 second car....I ask him about dyno and he told me it dynoed 488 rwhp and 465 torque but that was before he put 36lb injectors....he was really nice and it is tough to try and decode that northern accent as opposed to the hick language I am accustomed to.

5.) any tips or hints would be nice

I don't know about the laws in texas (haven't been down there in awhile) but I would just call them out to your local drag strip and take it here. Or if you know a secluded spot it would be cool but my thought are if the cops come run if you get tailed just stop you can;t out run the motorolla. You've got the Honda's by a long shot just Launch at a low RPM and try not to get to much tire spin the car should pull away from them nicely.

This can't be good. You have a low 11 second car, asking how to street race, and then asking if you should run if the cops show up???

This has disaster written all over it

do everyone and yourself a favor...take it to the track. at least there if you mis-launch, worse you can do is smack a wall and take out a fender/nose...you'll be out $$$ for autobody repairs

do it on the streets, and you run taking out some people and cars. ..you'll be looking at vehicular manslaughter, etc etc.

if the fastest car you've been in is a 13 sec car, and now you want to run a low 11 car on the street...you're asking for all kinds of trouble. take it to the track. do a few easy runs, then a few hard ones. learn how the car responds and handles. the street is no place to suddenly find out that the tail likes to slide out on a hard shift.

never run from the cops. odds are you'll lose.
I'm not sure what the laws are in TX, but here in VA, it's a felony, jailtime, loss of license, and they confiscate your car.

stay safe

Do us a favor and don't street race. That way my parents, sibblings, buddies and GF won't have any chance of you killing them. An 11 sec car should stay on the track when you are as young and inexperienced as you are. Race like a real man and get some slips to prove your victories. Then again, nothing states domination by using a rocket on 4 wheels to slaughter 18 second import cars. Don't put my friends in jepordy you fools.

Well, i think the best thing that you should do is learn that car like the back of your hand before you even think about raceing. And never run from the cops, you might get away the first time but eventually you will get caught and the charges will be even worse. Chances are, you get caught the first time you may just get a warning, and it wouldnt be too smart to run from a warning stop.

Sorry guys this board is for discussing who would theoretically win in a race between two cars; its not for discussing illegal actions such as running from police.

Try and rephrase your question in a new thread...
