Audi TT's?
This came up this weekend cuz a friend of my brother has a brand new Audi TT. (he's 16 and rich LOL) He says its quick and i know that they are decently fast.
My bro and some others that know the kid with the Audi asked my if my Iroc could take it. I said yeah, i would run him pretty hard.
My Iroc has a stock L98, with only mods in the sig. Ran a best of 14.02 at 96 with bad tires and i got them replaced last month. So i think it will be an easy win if i race him sometime. I dont know if I ever will race him, but just in case, i wanna know what i am up against. What do you think?

cool thanks i just looked them up too and dont know what kind of motor this kid has. Think its probly one of the 1.8's cuz the 3.2 6cylinder starts at over 40grand and i doubt they are that rich to give him that car but they do own a porshe of some kind, and alot of other cars. LOL

I know a few guys that have had Audi's. They thought they were really fast. They were dogs...don't know about the newest ones though. I think it's getting to the point now that automakers are building faster and better cars and trucks these days. Soon our thirdgens won't keep up unless they are heavily modded. I don't think you have to worry about cars so much as you do pickup trucks!

If it is the newer twin turbo dual exhaust model you might have a problem, but I think you could take him especially if he just got the car. Just run him and find out. The new SRT Jeep Grand Cherokee is faster; so says the new commercial

twin turbo? 1.8 motors are 4 bangers so its gonna be a single turbo. The 3.2 liter 6 banger isnt a twin turbo. I thought it was naturally aspirated. Are you guys thinking of this car?

according to audi, the two 4 cylinders are turbo'd, but the six aint. LOL, pretty fast cars for what they are. Are audi and Volkswagon related, cuz that 1.8turbo motor is alot like the GTi jetta things with the 1.8T motor

Top Gear just did a test of the new 3.2L Audi TT. Terrible times when the stig drove it. Down near the bottom of the list. 1:33 around the track or something like that.
The 3.2L V6 is naturally aspirated, and its HEAVIER than the previous 1.8 turbo.
It wouldnt take heavy mods to waste a Audi TT. Cat-back, a set of sticky tires, and being in good tune ought to take care of one easily enough.

I am closing in on high 13's now that i got new rear tires with some tread on them LOL. Ran 14.02 at 96 previously. I am gonna get my 3.27's put in and then tighten up the shift kit next spring/summer once i start working again, then some LCA's. Should easily put me in the 13.9's or hopefully better. I also gutted my airboxes completely this time so flow is alot better.

Its amazing how many people will buy a VW bettle with Audi badges and different sheetmetal & interior for $40k. Audi has some good marketing......

Yes, they do have quite the marketing ability. I find the lexus es300 and the camry an equally retarded juxtaposition.

the audi TT's single exhaust---180hp, dual exhaust---225
they don't make a twin turbo TT
the 225 hp versions run low 14's in the 1/4.
my brother in law has a TT started out as the 225 hp version.
he's done quite a few things to it and he's over 300 hp, and the f@#$ car is fast off the line:hail:
I raced him acouple of times, from a stand still he owns be big time, from a roll about say 20-30 I'm right on his a..
92 z28 5.7 350
hypertech chip
edelbrock headers
flowmaster exhaust
random technology cats

On a side note, I still laugh every time I meet someone who doesn't know that only half as many Japanese car manufactures as they thought existed produce cars. I'm always like, "You better put on these sunglasses. After living under a rock in the back of a cave your whole life, the sun must be KILLING your eyes." lol

Audi is the high end VW. Ever see the similarity in the Jetta/Passat and the Audi Quatro? Both can come with 1.8T or V6. Same engines in both cars.

Ford Explorer = F-150. Same thing right? No.
Agreed those cars arent quite equals to each other but similar like Camaro and Trans Am, both F-bodies but bit different.

I consider cars the same when you have the same engines, wheelbase, suspension, glass, and interior layouts.
Small things like pope up headlights (on the TA), different spoilers, guages, and the like don't mean squat.
Corvette is not a Chevette, but a Pontiac 1000 (if that was the correct model) is a Chevette.

Then the Beetle isn't the same as the TT. Beetle came way before it too, in the late 50s early 60s and then was brought back and remodeled in like 97. TT was introduced in like the mid 90's. They have many different parts and the motors are not the same.
