slow thirdgen

on the way home from work today I was driving home and this thirdgen comes up riding my **** when there is a lane right next to him that he could have taken and I can see he keeps gunning it and then letting off. and I'm getting a little unhappy so I pull off into the second lane and figure what the hell I will let him go on his mary way.
well so I thought light in front of me turns red. so I stop and so does he and I notice the iroc-z badging on the car and notice a nice 3" cowl only to look up and see him looking at me shaking his head and giving me the thumbs down. so I'm figuring ok wow a stuck up domestic owner woohoo. light turns green and he guns it and I just kinda cuirse up on to the next light and here he is laughing at me now.
so I figure what the hell my front differential mount is already broke so the rear end is kinda rotating so know I can't get the greateast launch but figure what the hell.
light turns red I ease on the clutch to prevent that loud thunk and so he takes me by about half a car. hit around 3800rpms and hear the secondaries open up. shift my sloppy shifter into second and hear the loud thunk from my rear and keep on going by the top of first though I already have him at my bumper by the time I hit top of second he is far enough back I just figure screw it and let off.

guess what he does next.
he gives me the ol flyby and at the next light he isn't laughing anymore but still giving me the thumbs down. and starts reving again at me so this time I say screw him screw the rear end. rev her up to about 3000 and when light turns green slip the clutch as much as I can to prevent the wheel hop from my stupid rear end he nosed me but that was easily taken care of and before I even got into the middle of second gear he was again far enough back I gave up again and once again got the r<x>icer flyby and this time at the red light he turned left but before he did so he was kind enough to flip me the bird

A third gen driver would never act like that. Maybe it was that slim87camaro or whatever guy.

Ahhh......I always love seeing this sweet little nuggets of on-topic information that sty leaves for all of us. Is anyone going to eventually get tired of the arrogance and ban him?

any ways, rx7 what you running? nice race, great to put cocky owners in their place. i thought you were a 16 second car? was it an Iroc fake or some old P.O.S.? well, irocz's did get an LG4....

I'm flattered that you took the time out of your busy day to follow me around the board and beg that I be banned. It must of really put you back, what with all the kids, wife, and bosses.

If you get more time, do you think you can clean out your inbox Mr. Popular? I can't send you a message telling you how I was just joking with you, and that even the most strict moderators take jokes better than you if your box is full.

I pretty much just read stuff here, but enoughs enough. Stu you are an idiot. Not because you drive an import, but that you try to pick internet fights with a bunch of guys on a 3rd gen domestic forum. Of course we dont really care for imports, we dont like to tune them....we enjoy domestic cars. Im part of other internet forums, and I have seen your type. Your all the same...a pain in the *** just out to get attention. Im surprised the administrators here havent banned you. You do no good for this forum.

There is a lot of truth to this. Although I cannot agree with the way stu repsonds in some posts I cannot blame him for his sarcastic demeanor at times. He knows what TGO expects of him. I would be unfare if I were to further punish stu and let some of the rule-breaking garabge you guys post slide. We expect the same from every member no matter what they drive. By complaining, most poeple break more rules in one post than stu does in a whole thread. Stu knows that he is on a fine line, but frankly so are many of you.

I say we all strive to follow the rules and avoid any ambiguous statements. Being the internet and all most of these statements are viewed the wrong way and with it comes the improper way of dealing with it. If you have a problem, PM me. The mods of TGO only consider the request from the non rule breakers. Some people need to look at their posts more closely. This forum has been a wreck.

RX7, What mods, if any, do you have???? It sounds like your car runs good, or he had a carb 305 with a cowl hood.......WOW. My friend has an 88 7 and his car does great burnouts, but isn't very fast.
BTW, I drove it once, and I know exactly what you mean about the sloppy shifter! It is like a wet noodle! LOL.

off topic- wow i see im not the only one.

on topic- thay kid should sell his thirdgen. he doesnt deserve it. being a butt like that. flicking you off after you killed him fair and square. i can understand the thumbs down and him shaking his head. i mean your driving an import. but then after he gets killed he should at least have the respect to give you a thumbs up for having a faster car since he was the one trying to race. he was prolly so emaressed he didnt know what else to do

Are you running a turbo 13b? By the way you describe the race it sounds like it's carbed ??? If it is N/A, what's done to it to be able to beat IROCs?

BTW, I drove it once, and I know exactly what you mean about the sloppy shifter! It is like a wet noodle! LOL.
my mods are fairly limited right now
header which replaces the two precats and a literal box of an exhuast manifold
straight pipe replacing the main cat
rusted out mufflers which now are for the most part straight through mufflers now
ported intake manifold (and you guys think the tpi design sux)
K&N
FD alt putting rated at 100amps but prolly more like 120 amps... and let me tell you that thing was a bitch to get in there right. but be proud guys that alt is using a alt pully I think from some 55-58 chevy car so I have some domestic in me
and replaced the intake ducting
other then that nthing much

as far as the shifter it is an unfinished project that I haven't had the time to do since I keep driving it all the time. I was in the process of cutting the stock shifter to make it a little shorter but since I moved from my friends parents house and he left not long after kinda hard to have a reason to go over there just to use the shop to finish the job so my shifter is fairly floppy at the moment more so then normal.

as far as it being an iroc-z
what do you guys think?
prolly a tbi camaro, v6
or maybe even a iron duke though I doubt it.
hence the *****.
though if it was a iroc-z the boy needs to fix his car up and make it run right

slim it seems to me that my import is a little better
it was faster and that is with atleast 220k miles on the motor (speedo broke so not sure of exact mileage anymore) that hasn't been touched internally. has a broken mount on the rear end so the differential is able to rotate around quite a bit. and is still mostly stock. so straight line he isn't better that is for sure.
as far as the turns go anymore I'm not sure. 220k miles on my stock suspension isn't that great I'm sure I would have been able to hold my own but I'm not in any hurry to find out right now.
but no I wasn't cutting him off. as was said in my post I was driving alond the road minding my own biz and he was riding my ****. I moved to let him pass since he refused to get into the other lane.
also as far as four wangers having ***** some do they just don't have that rumble sound.

fbodtek I'm not carbed instead using the stock fuel injection unit and no I'm not turbo either full N/A

ljnowell yes it does make me a hypocrite can't deny it, but I'm not the one running around ALL THE TIME compaling about another members off topic post and how he ruins threads and such though don't feel bad your not the only one.... it's TGO we all do it just some do it more then most

btw I say that ljnowell and stu should be considered married by common law TGO marrige. look at the two of them they bicker like a married couple right?

I need to get my car fixed up though this rear end is bothering the hell out of me and it is common issue with the rx7's and I about tempted just to get the mount welded solid cause till that is fixed I'm afraid to touch anything else on the drivetrain or even hot rod it around at all bieng I don't want to make the matter worse

i forgot you have a ol school mazda. yeah that iroc couldnt have been running right. theres a kid out here by me that has a 3rd gen that has different doors on it that say iroc but the car is really a 305 tbi. meaning its slow. and its stock so its really slow.

thats the dumbest thing i heard. so your calling Evo's and STI's bad cars? they dont have *****? STI's can run 13.1's and one i know of ran 12.99 in 28degree weather. LS1's cant do better than that. cobras would have a challenge with those cars. Evos are also low 13 second cars.

i would take a 400hp 4 banger over my stock 250hp L98 anyday of the year!!! 400hp is 400hp. respect that.

stu's car a symbol of small *****. LOL it looks timid so you are sorta right, but his car would out run majority of cars on here. all for cheaper than our cars too. think before you say stuff like that.

your the type of driver that would do something like that iroc driver. LOL you will get crushed by an import and still be ignorant about the fact that the import is a better car.

"but cars have been a symbol of mans jewels for a long time. car with *****, man with *****."

So you should overcompensate and get a lifted truck?
That will show everyone how big your ***** are.

You are without a doubt the most retarded person on TGO, out of all it's 35,000+ members.

What does the FC run at the track? I thought they were dog slow in N/A form (rather, non 20b form, hehe). I would think they are as slow as a 2.8L.

I don't have anything bad to say about most import drivers just cause they chose to tune/modify an import I think its cool after I finish building my motor Im thinking of getting an RSX-S I really like those cars anyways most of us third gen'ers are just like some import drivers after all third gens where once thought as slow cars, dogs, ******* mobil's but we know their not

have RESPECT for performance both import and domestic

best track time was 16.4 at around 85mph and a 2.3-2.4 60foot time

but then again the car wasn't running great either
usually spun through first by me being stupid and dumping at 5500rpms with peg leg so spun through most of first then my AFM was messing up causing the car to buck or so and followed up by me missing my shift from second to third
since then best time G-tech wise has been a 16.01
but most are better then the 2.8's and even the 3.1's

hope to go to the track again next year if I fix this front diff mount (Stupid IRS)
and get my secondaries to work correctly.
sometimes work
sometimes not
sometimes work then stick open
also need to get this shifter finished or at least replaced.
but hoping for low 16's or if lucky REALLY lucky a high 15

no matter what import it is the american car is always better. even if the american car doesnt run and is rusted to hell and the import is some 600hp racer. its would be a different story if we where in a another country.

i thought about getting an import once, it was going to have to be awd, have a turbo, and be a manual trans. thats the only way i would get an import is if it where those things. i was looking at eclipse's, evo's, and wrx's. with my budget i was leaning more towards an eclipse. and i learned that 95 eclipse's if had a manual trans where prone to braking crank bearings. so it was going to have to be a newer eclipse but not the newer body style because i hate that look.

nidyanazo- yeah im retarted. last time i checked i wasnt. but because you say im a retard then it must be true.

how would it be better though JUST becuase it is american?
if it's slower it's not better at speed
if it can't handle as well it is better at turning
if it breaks down all the time it isn't better at reliability
and so on
just because it is american doesn't make it better only for that reason in my opinion
and I'm not saying american cars are the above just making a statement though

hey now, that class is hard. i am in it now and its confusing. LOL

its great to have american pride and all but there are some fine import cars and you know a BMW 740 is better car than some old LG4 camaro. Just except the fact that there is imports that are better cars based on features/comforts/and performance.

well so I thought light in front of me turns red. so I stop and so does he and I notice the iroc-z badging on the car and notice a nice 3" cowl only to look up and see him looking at me shaking his head and giving me the thumbs down. so I'm figuring ok wow a stuck up domestic owner woohoo. light turns green and he guns it and I just kinda cuirse up on to the next light and here he is laughing at me now.
so I figure what the hell my front differential mount is already broke so the rear end is kinda rotating so know I can't get the greateast launch but figure what the hell.
light turns red I ease on the clutch to prevent that loud thunk and so he takes me by about half a car. hit around 3800rpms and hear the secondaries open up. shift my sloppy shifter into second and hear the loud thunk from my rear and keep on going by the top of first though I already have him at my bumper by the time I hit top of second he is far enough back I just figure screw it and let off.

guess what he does next.
he gives me the ol flyby and at the next light he isn't laughing anymore but still giving me the thumbs down. and starts reving again at me so this time I say screw him screw the rear end. rev her up to about 3000 and when light turns green slip the clutch as much as I can to prevent the wheel hop from my stupid rear end he nosed me but that was easily taken care of and before I even got into the middle of second gear he was again far enough back I gave up again and once again got the r<x>icer flyby and this time at the red light he turned left but before he did so he was kind enough to flip me the bird

stupid ricers
stupid flybys
and stupid rude ******
By secondaries do you mean the last 2 of the 6 ports or do you have a carb on it?. My best friend is into rx7s a lot and hes a big fan of putting 4 barrels on them (even tho I tell him to keep the FI all the time). Why I like first gens the best, no IRS to break

It's obvious that there was either something wrong with the iroc or they were fake badges. I didn't know iroc's came with tbi either...I have respect for the rx7 rotary engines. I have yet to see any rx7 around here where I live worth it's salt. They are all dogs. As far as imports and domestics go...c'mon. Look at how they are both made. The drivetrains are completely different. Domestics can handle lots of hp, imports cannot. When will people learn that they are not in the same league?

Don't tell me how many imports are running high hp. That's not the point. Most importers are not running high hp. They can't afford to keep replacing broken parts. They are running minor mods with wings that do nothing but make their cars look stupid. Go down to the track and watch a 9 or 10 sec import run. They break down often. Mostly drivetrain issues. At the SEMA show my friend and his dad saw a brand new subaru with a 1200hp engine. It had a single very large turbo. It will never run at the track. It was just for show cuz the drivetrain wouldnt last 1/8 mile and then PING... The car was there to only get people to buy their parts. Big waste of money. Personally I think this whole import fad thing is a big scam to make kids spend money they dont have on a car that will never be fast enough. Keep watching those movies guys.

If you like imports, good for you. Enjoy them. I will enjoy my thirdgen 500hp Z28 that I can still build up to run 9's for a lot less than what it costs to buy an import. I prefer american muscle. I respect imports and they respect me. They won't even rev on me anymore. They all want to see what's under the hood. Their cars make them happy. Mine makes me very happy. Most of the time they will tell me they would much rather have my car than theirs.

My oldest son has already come over to the dark side and bought himself a 94Z28. His honda is still in my yard up on blocks....broken and used up. Yes, thirdgens are seemingly slow these days compared to new cars and trucks. You almost can't keep up without modding the crap out of one. It's not the imports you have to worry about anymore. It's the pickup trucks.

As far as the race goes, if rx7speed was telling the truth it was a good kill whether or not it pisses us thirdgenners off. I'm sorry some thirdgen asshat flipped you off. He needs to grow up. ZGive the guy a break. He beats an iroc and everyone pees their pants. The iroc deserved it. He taunted him and lost. It's a classic scenario. One that we relish when an import does it to us...
