5.0 fox body runs with its tail between its legs, bua hahahaha

So if anyone read the electronics board, I found out why my car is shaking like a vibrator. I looked down at my passenger side where my PCm is and noticed 5 wires came loose.

1 was a PCM ground
1 was VSS (speedo)
3 were injectors (ARGH!)

I could not figure out why I had a ticking and thought it was a header leak, so I fixed these yesterday and she is running like a champ again.

Anyways, go out late at night to bring the ol' beast out of its cage and run into a light blue, white ground effects 5.0 fox body. Were both at the light, I get rollin g to about 10mph and fricken nail it, I scare the crap out of this guy and he doesn't bite. I figure oh well. Go back to 40mph, and out of the blue comes the fly by. This thing is blowing blue smoke. I don't let it get to me since I figured, okay, i got him off guard, maybe he does want to play. So I catch up and im at his window and were going 40 again. Up ahead, light just turned read and were about 200 ft from the light. I slow down and hit my breaks and anticipating the line up. This guy, haha, I saw him hit his brakes for a second and hesitate and he runs the damn light, hahahaha. The light had gone red for about 5-6 seconds and he runs it so he doesn't line up to me. I was laughing my *** off. Was a good night, right then, I knew the beast was back .

Because its 2:00am, I slowed down, he was the one being a dumbass, he flew by me at about 65 in a 40. I never went above 45. So why not ask for the full situation next time so you don't become what your accusing me of next time huh?

I guess I missed the part where we were blazing down the roads at 80. Like I said genius, were cruising at 40 and coming to the light. He ran the light at the speed limit, there was no more racing after he blew by me. Get your statements straight or quit assuming.

Oh yes, must be extremely smart to run a red light going 35 at a four way intersection. Yup. Considering I sped up and got to 45, he was way behind I slowed down and went the limit and he speeds past me going 65. Yes must be much smarter. Lets just say im more confident in my intelligence after hearing your remarks....jeez

Id say the Mustang owner was an idiot, which seems to be true for a lot of Mustang owners...

Oh well, no kill but stupidity on the Mustangs part!

Actually, this was the first one i've run into that wasn't really into. Usually if I find a 5.0 fox body here, their pretty damn cool. lot of them are older guys, guess that makes the difference.

thats is retarded. pasky did nothing wrong. the mustang guy is an idiot. he blew a redlight. thats how accidents happen. If he was scared of racing, he didnt have to blow the light to avoid it. he didnt have to run when it turned green. this is a street board, so street racing happens. you think its wrong, dont post here.

anyway, sounds like the mustang was a stocker and in bad shape. not much to worry about. nice race even tho nothing really happened. its still exciting trying to get someone to go with you.

I have noticed alot more older guys too, and these are the guys I tend to like better. My dad has one at 47, another friend has one at 60, and a few other 30-50 year old friends have them. Most are fast, or at least fast for the mods, but these guys rarely street race.

In my eyes its the younger kids that have them, think they are the "man" and make them look bad. I am young and own one, yet I dont go around pretending my s**t dont stink. As a matter of fact I just avoid street racing and dont have to worry!

yeah, most of the people around here with 5.0s are kids. They have stickers on the sides of them and they drive around playing rap music with like 3 or 4 guys in the car.

One was really pissing me off the other night, so I just nailed it and got sideways in second, and he sort of backed off lol.

Im cool with anyone who doesn't want to go, doesn't make you any less of a man. Its just a lot of the times around here, no one gives you the heads up and you just go, if the other guy follows, cool, if not, guess he don't wanna play. Every now and then you get a guy who will roll down his window and ask you, those are the good races. Once again, I don't do this **** if there is traffic, I simply will not risk my life, my car, or more importantly an innocent drivers life. I'd rather mark a loss than lose my life or my car. But man its a rush sometimes .

Yeah I've noticed around here that most of the big boys (older 60's maros and challengers and such) don't want to race. I've gotten a few to race at like 2 AM with no one around.

I get whooped, but it's fun.

And all the guys are like 30-50.

Why is pasky the idiot? He didnt pull a crap *** flyby? He didnt run a red light, possibly endangering his own and others lives. As a matter of fact, I dont really see how he was driving like a dumbass anyway. Nothing like a good troll.

I would congratulate a kill, but it was more of a "scared the hell outa him"

Score one for the thirdgens.

No rarely if I ever do I get the need to get on it. Now I have "raced" people before, like one time I was merging onto the highway at that right RPM, and there was a 1999 or 2001 Cobra right there, and he went for it, so I proceeded to put a few cars on him and let off. Other than that I havent had many if any runs at all. Just too much to lose, and I know what the car can do, 12.5s on slicks, 12.6s on the daily driver tires and 12.9s with the 17s bolted on!

Thats twice you call names without justification, and if the *** didn't want to race there was no need to fly by at 65mph. Quit trying to justify your befuddled statement.

dang, your too controlled for me LOL i would love to run that car everyday. 12's must be nice. i am bored with 13.9's. i gotta start saving cash for another motor. LOL

flyby and running a redlight to get away from pasky's "burnouts"? he didnt mention burnouts nor is it a smart way to avoid a race. you dont want a race, then dont. dont risk your life and others to "get away" from a race by blowing a red light. thats just dumb

Yes it is flaming but I am giving it a chance to get back on track. Somehow I doubt that it will.

I am very self controlled when it comes to the car. Very rarely do I act stupid behind the wheel, and I always make sure its the safest place to do so, so only I get hurt if something happens. Just seems in this day and age everyones a race car driver and although sometimes it would be nice to prove a point, I dont ever try!

Meh, the way I see it is I bought a sports car to go fast, driving like grandma all the time in a fast car kinda defeats the purpose. I realize you hit the track and thats what you use yours for, however, my track is only open on Sundays and starts at 10:00PM and ends around 3:00am, I get up early to go to work the next day so I usually dont have time to go hit the track.

My tracks are 2+ hours away, so I know the pain. But I do race in a series and at the decent sized Mustang events in the northeast. Even with only hitting the track a half dozen times a year I still have the control. Like I said I still wind the car out, but never with people around, never with other innocent people in the car, and never to prove I can beat some other car next to me. I care about beating Mustangs with my mods, and so far I have been successful at doing it! Cant prove that without track numbers!

Yea I do that a lot too, there is an old farm road near the airport here and its always dead around 12:00am and the best part is its totally lit up and you can see a clear 2000 ft ahead of you so you dont risk hitting someone who doesnt have thier lights on and you can definatley see them coming, I love opening the car up down that road, its such a great stress relief .

Depends, I swapped mine in because my 3.1 was pissing me off, nothing but problems. The price it cost me to swap in the lt1 and t56, was cheaper than buying a 350 TPI thirdgen. Im a lot faster than them too. Only problem is the time. Took me about 6 months total working a full time job and having a son and wife to take care of.

pasky as soon as that cam goes into that LT1 of yours, your gonna start tearing up the streets. stock LT1's are handicapped by a weak cam. a bigger cam, and your making tons more power. need a cam suited for the high power band of the LT1 intake. so put in that 306 cam and should be one mean machine.

amen... thats the only way to do it. street racing wouldnt be such a bad thing if it was done in a safe manner. now no racing is safe, but its those people who do it in traffic or in bad conditions/areas, you name it, make it out to be so negative. those people are the ones who wreck and kill innocent people as well as themselves. it makes street racing what it is today, highly illegal with all the fines and whatnot. but its been around since the 40's and it will always be around. as long as it is conducted away from populated areas and in the safest ways possible, then its ok. its good to see people take car of their cars and only get on it in the safest of areas where you present no danger but to your self and your car.

If he was scared of racing, he didnt have to blow the light to avoid it. he didnt have to run when it turned green. this is a street board, so street racing happens. you think its wrong, dont post here.

anyway, sounds like the mustang was a stocker and in bad shape. not much to worry about. nice race even tho nothing really happened. its still exciting trying to get someone to go with you.
my sentiments exactly what the hell are you jumping down paskys throat for trying to have a little road fun with a stupid fox body obviously you are a stang fan who didnt like the story otherwise you wouldnt have tried to say pasky was being dumb when it wasnt him that RAN THE RED LIGHT!!!!! duhhhhhhhh did you forget that part or something????????

Easy now, dont knock all mustang guys for no reason. I like mustangs too, it was a fluke in pricing that brought me to the thirdgen world instead of foxbody.org or whatever the hell they use.

Im a lot faster than them too. Only problem is the time. Took me about 6 months total working a full time job and having a son and wife to take care of.
Do you have more pics? Looks like it turned out really nice! I was trying to talk a friend into doing a LT1 swap with a 6spd into his car since it needs a tranny rebuild and maybe some new cam bearings. Rather than try and build his motor up and rebuild the tranny..that could easily be like $3000-$5000 done right.

Unfortunately....yeah

A couple weeks back i had some kids in a '96-98 GT vert AODE trying to mess with me one night. I didn't want to run at all since i was in a VERY BAD mood that night (girl probs) but they kept nagging me on and laughing. I never raced, next light, i took a right just to avoid them.

They prob went to some message board the next day and bragged about scaring me away or something to their buddies.

I turn down a TON of races lately. I just have nothing to prove these days. Most of my spirited driving comes from me alone at night getting board and trying to get 2nd gear sideways around a corner or seeing how fast i can run to 130MPH on an empty highway.
