I was on the pacific coast hwy today, I'm the passenger in my bro's '84 firebird (lg4). We hit a red on a open, flat 1/2mile section and an '02 Camaro SS is next to us. So I say to the guy whatta ya got in there? He goes "LS1" so I say well we got an lg4 and it's fast (it's stock
) He says "what is that?" I say you're about to find out! So the light turns green and my buddy floors it, and we are already ahead of him. I'm like damn he won't run. Then he hits the gas and pulls so **^#$#% hard it's like a joke. That's the first time I got to see what an LS1 can really do. They sure fly!

They have the most potential with the stock parts than any small block ever produced. It is not uncommon for those cars to hit 11's with just bolt ons.

its called lack of driver skill at the track. the ET is not indicative of the potential of that car at all. and especially once he gets the CC306 in next week, it definitely will be an LS1 destroyer, at least stock to mild bolt-on ones.

ls1's are weak. compaired to a modded 383 or a ls2. i seen a kid in a 02 TA ls1 auto trans run a 13.6 with his only mod a m.a.s. or something like that. a tiny mod like a sensor. ive seen the 4.6L 03 mach 1's run 12.9 stock no mods just the free stuff like taking out a head light and some plumbing. and of course lowering the tire pressure to like 12-14 lbs.
yeah a ls1 would kill my car but once i get my 100hp shot if nitrous those ls1's are gonna be weaping. my car is lighter then a ls1 and has about 100hp less to the wheels right now but with that 100hp shot itll put me right up there if not a couple more horses. my motor wont last long but i will still be able to say i beat a ls1 with a 305. lol

my engine isnt that bad, but i cant change my profile cause im on probation. it was rebuilt with edelbrock performer package. the 600cfm carb, intake, cam, lifters, then the head ports where mildly ported. im making about 220hp to the wheels. beleive it or not. ABOUT 205-210rwhp then once i get my headers on i would say 220hp. i dont know what motor i have. it wasnt origanal though. i ran the numbers on the block and it came back as a 305, 80-85's 2 bolt main. if i ever find someone with a g-tech ill see what i have but until then im sticking to 205 without headers then 220 with headers. i can beat a any stock thridgen 350 out there. carbed,tbi, but the tpi would be close. too close for me to call it. so yeah with a 100hp shot nitrous i bet i can make one weap. just cause it will be close and he will be like wtf?!?!

220 horsepower aint beating a L98 dude. You can throw your 100 shot on and STILL not make as much power to the wheels as a LS1...stop talking out your ***...

And while I've never seen any LS1, F-body or Y-body run 12s stock, I've witnessed a 01 WS6 run 109mph, absolutely stock. 109mph... weak?
BTW - I'll bet if you actually put your car on chassis dyno your rwhp will be a good bit lower than you claim...

ABOUT 205-210rwhp then once i get my headers on i would say 220hp. i dont know what motor i have. it wasnt origanal though. i ran the numbers on the block and it came back as a 305, 80-85's 2 bolt main. if i ever find someone with a g-tech ill see what i have but until then im sticking to 205 without headers then 220 with headers. i can beat a any stock thridgen 350 out there. carbed,tbi, but the tpi would be close. too close for me to call it. so yeah with a 100hp shot nitrous i bet i can make one weap. just cause it will be close and he will be like wtf?!?!

I agree its driver skill, but then again on the street you still have to drive the car, so the guy getting the 2.3 60's still has to launch the car on the street to win the street race!
I dont know, I just wouldnt consider that an LS1 killer (not being mean, as I have a similarly fast car), more like a good race for an LS1!

Okay, so maybe I went a bit far by saying ls1 killer, but I have beaten just about everyone i've run into on the streets. That same night at the track I got wooped by a 02 WS6 spraying a 175-200 shot on slicks running 12.2. I did woop on a 00 SS that same run I got the 13.7. The track in my town sucks, they don't prep the pavement at all and everyone spins. Guy in the SS was also on street tires. Once again, I did most of my fun on the street but im starting to love the track a lot more

I hear that pasky the track here in amarillo sucks too. Even my 78 trans am with all of its 200hp and 2.56 rear end spins here. BUT the new owners are trying to take care of it, whole track will be repaved next year when it opens

my engine isnt that bad, but i cant change my profile cause im on probation. it was rebuilt with edelbrock performer package. the 600cfm carb, intake, cam, lifters, then the head ports where mildly ported. im making about 220hp to the wheels. beleive it or not. Seriously, nobody really cares about your car that's been all hacked up. A 'kid' ported your heads? Trust me, ported heads won't get your 305 (that feels like a 350... bwhahahaha) to 200 hp. Stop talking out of your *** and show a timeslip. You say you're broke but most tracks charge $25 or less to let you run for a day.

I also agree, and sure, you drive to CT and Ill pay for your dyno, and even throw a tune on the car. Then Ill pay for you to run at the track, and youll be very disappointed with 160 rwhp and mid to high 15s, thinking youll go 12s with a 100 shot...
