2000 ls1 -vs- 2004 yahmaha r1/ 1988 gta -vs- 2002 yam r6

so my brother is out cruising in this 2000 t/a, (cam only, no head work, all bolt ons, 1 7/8 headers,3 1/2 in duals, 3100lbs, .620 lift 250-560 dur 113 lsa cam, direct port nex,th400 2600rpm converter;because of the n2o,3.55 gears) and comes across a r6 and a r1 at taco cabana. he gives a little rev at the bikes and they laugh. so he backs up and he asks them if they have ever been beaten by a street car. the guy on the r1 says that no street car can beat him. so my brother tells him that is about to change. they go to the freeway and run from about 50mph. the r1 starts out in third gear(a mistake; he could have been in second) my brother pulls about 3 car lengths on him and holds it till about 150mph and they both let out. they meet back at the taco cabana and the guy on the r1 is amazed at a street car that runs on pump gas just beat his 9 sec bike. dont mess with texas.....i raced the r6,in my 1988 GTA, WHICH IS A THIRD GENERATION F-BODY, knowing fully that i would get stomped, but i ran him from a stop to try and even my chances(i was on et streets). i got demolished after only about 80 feet and i let out......i eliminated this from the previous post of this race because i lost, but i didnt pay any attention to the fact that i eliminated my 3rd gen t/a from the story making this topic a inapropriate one on this site.

well it cant be said right now.....there is alot of money riding on the car in a race with another local car. the guy might see a post of this and decide not to race him. he has the other guy covered by a substantial amount, and the other guy runs 6.80's in the 1/8 mile. i could tell you 1/4 mile, basicly a 9.67.......with a stock short block and heads. if the guy were to know the exact time the car runs in the 1/8 mile he might try to get the jump or any other tactics to improve his chances, but he knows nothing of 1/4 mile times so im safe to tell those.

wow a 9.67? thats pretty stout. i seen several mid 9 second ls1's lately, running 140-150mph. very impressive to take on bikes. R1 is a 10 second bike i think.. not sure it can break 9's

depending on year of R-1 they run from 10.10 down to 9.70's at 135-140mph. thats with a good rider. R-6 is 10.40-10.70@130mph and yet again with a good rider.

i know reid, and he would not race this car even if he knew who it was. i wouldnt tell you if it was reid that he was trying to race(reid would back out of a money race anyway, he always does). reid is more talk than anything, and his car is not very fast. btw the car went even faster the other night, but im not at liberty to say what it ran.
