'05 Mustamed ;-)

ooo, been looking for one for weeks. finally.

ok 12am making a mail run. spot a 05 mustang and give chase. catch him at the second light. i look over but he seems to pay no mind. now i'm thinkin dang, i risked a ticket for this?

i look up and wait for the light to turn green and head home. just in case i pulled the car into first and looked back up.

just as the light turns green i roll off and BAM he nails it and gets nearly a car on me. wtf!!!

i roll into deliah pretty hard now and start to spin some but stay in it and start to pull back up on him.

by now deliah is really puttin the power down as i approach the front of the tang. as he goes to grab second i pull ahead and after i hit second he is lookin at 3rd gen bumper.

at about 60 its over and i let off.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! life is good.

anyway he pulls to the next light revs the engine and turns off. don't know what that means but i'll take the win.

Gooood night all!!

My guess if you pulled it that fast (end of first you went from a car back, and lost the jump, to ahead) that it was a V6 or you have a decent mod list! I cant wait till my brother gets his, and I can see what one can do!

what kind of mods do you have to run mid 13s in a thirdgen vert? If you pulled that well on a new Mustang (high 13s car when driven well) you must be deep 13s...

just curious, afterall Im a Mudstain owner, need some mods to believe it!

well since you ask......

350 crate vortec tpi from scroggin dickie.

9.6 comp. lt4 hot cam 1.6 rockers. headers, 2.5 pipe through hooker exhaust. gutted cat. custom computer chip. 52 mm tb. lca, eibach springs, panhard bar, strut tower brace, 24lb bosch injectors, high volume fuel pump, 2400 stall, kevlar tranny rebuild, ported plenum. hmmm, i am sure there are a few more but that is most of it.

will that do it for ya?

oh ya, vortec heads. i knew there was something!!

well since you said 350 vortec tpi, that would basically say that you have vortec heads since the only thing that makes it vortec is the heads.

vortec crate is a 350hp TPI setup..... thats more than enough to take down a stang and should hang nicely with stock LS1's

357hp 416 ft lbs of torque on dyno according to scroggin dickie. that was with stock injectors, stock chip, stock tb, they had headers but i believe stock exhaust after it. also plenum was stock. there was also an issue with the way they had the air plumed into the engine that was restrictive according to the tech who put one in his car.

don't truly know exactly where it is now but it puts a smile on my face.

hsr soon to follow.

i ran one modified modified SS ls1 camero (exhaust chip etc). i pulled at first but he sloooowly pulled back up and had a fender when we let off.

one catch though. i had a high flo dodge neon fuel pump in the car at the time (some nice person put the wrong pump in the box.
) also made a few other changes since then. i believe i might get him now.

Hey slohand!

I live in Greensboro NC I have a HSR 327 it will be finished next month. Lets say we get up and race! I would love to try my car against yours just to see what I'm working with.

By the way what gears are you running and do you still have your AC and smog pump installed? Subframes?

sounds nice. what the heck, worst i can do is lose!! love to see your set up. you ever go to the beach down 70?

i have such a serious traction problem i have left the stock gears in it. i am hopin the hsr will trade some torque for higher end hp.
then i can change the gearing. (stock are 2.73s i think)

all the factory stuff is still on and hooked up. i really meant to do this just for fun but speed is addictive, as you well know. i was going to the drags but i understand after the first run i will be done since it is a vert without roll bar. plan to do it though after i get the hsr.

i will need frame connectors but have not done so yet. just the lca, panhard, and tower brace.

by the way, why a 327 and not 350 or 383? i kinda wish i would have gone 383 but a little late now.

lemme know!!

I still plan on building a 383 with another engine I have I want to do it right with all forged parts so its going to take awhile. As for the 327 it was such a good deal on it I couldn't pass it up! It was built for bracket racing and I know it will out perform the 305 that was in there.

I got it running and it sounds Killer! My tranny comes in the first week in July and thats when my uncle going to paint it also. I still have to get gears, axels and wonder bar other than that I have all other suspension upgrades. I'm really just curious as to what a 327 can do anyway I think it will be a good race!

no offense, but why is that such a big deal? they suck.

they are one of the worst mustangs ever built. 300hp and they are so damn heavy that they need 50 more hp just to make it ls1/lt1 competitive. (3700lbs for coupe)

ive seen 3 at the track. 2 verts. one ran 15.2, one ran 15.5, and the coupe ran 14.6

all GTs. the saddest part of all, is that once i get the traction bars back on my truck and learn to launch properly, i will be doing low 15s....and my truck is mildly modded with only 220hp

im still trying to find a vert. to run my truck on the road...and i gotta get a video of it lol

Ran with a friend of mine the other day.

He has DRs, chip, CAI, and X-pipe. Ran 12.9 @ 104 and in the heat 13.1s all day! I believe he was going mid 13s without any mods as well!

The saddest part of it all is, my truck isn't as fast as they are yet, but I'll still pretend like it is, because it could be, one day.

I've seen a couple at the track 3 coupes and 1 vert

the vert ran a high 14 and the coupes ran 14.2 and 14.5 and another one ran a 13.0 but I think he was spraying

Might not have been. My friend did 13.0 @ a pretty crappy track with just a few minor bolt ons on drag radials!

I like the new Mustangs. Still dissapointing though. Only 300hp in such a heavy body with only a 5 speed (not 6)
