Gonna race terrell?
I think from a dig it'll be a driver's race, but from a roll I think he'll have the advantage.

Its hard to race a manual car from a roll when yur an auto. Hes got a major advantage there.

i know exactly what mph my car redlines per gear so i can properly downshift to whichever gear i need to to be at max powerband, and i do manually shift it at 6k.
does that help my odds?

That vette is probably running a 12.6-12.7, i think it will be a good race, but i think you're going down.

guess I should practice my launching
I will murder you from a roll
I ran a 13.6@103 with 2.1-2.3 60ft
plus my 2-3 shifts where garbage
I'll video the races

I think you'll beat him from a dig easy only if your chip is in tune with the HSR. The lack of torque the HSR produces at low rpms should give you a good launch. I've seen many vettes run low 13's and if he's running mid 13's his driving skills will be his undoing. From a roll if you have the right gear that matches your setup I don't see why you shouldn't take him if your car is has been tuned.
You should be making over 400hp with your setup that should be enough to take out that vette. Just to make things interesting take out your back seat, jack and spare tire. Also remember to lower your tire pressure take any advantage you can think of skinnies up front etc. etc. KILL THAT VETTE! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

Terrell would have to have a perfect launch/hook/shift/etc to even have a chance from a dig.
Not going to happen. IROC wins that one.
I don't care for races from a roll, but I would say starting at 50-60 on the freeway and going up to illegal speeds of course, Terrell would have you.
Anyone taking bets? I got 5 on it.

If he can play with the clutch real good, its a drivers race. If you hook and he spins a bit to much, You may just have a victory.

When you say exhaust for the Vette, you mean mufflers/catback mods or longtube headers and such? I'm assuming just simple catback/muffler mods...
Going w/ that assumption I'm going to say if the IROC is running up to potential for those mods it'll beat the Vette down pretty decently from a dig and at least match/pull a little from a roll (if it's a decent speed roll for the A4 to downshift and be in it's powerband at all).
That setup has the potential at least to easily beat the 315ish rwhp the Vette should be putting down on average. Add in better gearing (going from memory I believe the 6spd Vettes had fairly lackluster rear end gearing did they not? perhaps I'm wrong) and a higher stall for the IROC and I gotta say clear win for the IROC. Now whether or not it is living up to it's potential remains to be seen.
If I was betting I'd put $5 on the IROC for the 1/4 mile run, but the IROC could be running way off it's potential, whereas the Vette should be a pretty sure performer...

i hate to admit it ,but those newer vettes are pretty quick. i was fooling around with one a while ago in my chevelle (mild 454 w/411's and th 400 ,stock stall, good for low 13's maybe high 12's) from a roll of about 40 and he surprised me a bit.i was in 3'rd gear (mistake) and he had a manual ,i just stood on it and waited for it to kick down (mistake) ,but he got 5 car lengths on me before i chased him down.we ran out of room at about 90mph where i'm pretty sure with his tell gears and my 411's he would have destroyed me soon...but in a dig,i owned him. MORAL:if your iroc is built and you can drive, and know your car, you'll own him in a dig,and if he takes you on a roll he'll have to earn it...good luck.

this is an easy one... that combo is good for mid 12's at 110mph for sure... maybe even a bit more if its tuned of course
most stock vettes only do near that... he'd have to be a damn good driver to ring out 110mph
i'd say ur gonna win from a dig...and from a roll untill speeds get very high. go from a 40-50mph roll

well we raced
did one from a dig at the end of the night and [r!cer voice on] I forgot to turn the TC off[r!cer voice off] so by the time I actually got going he was about 3 or 4 cars ahead of me. we did a couple from a slow roll (20mph or less) and no one really pulled. on the highway I pulled him and I started in 4th gear and about 2 cars lenths behind him.
no vids cause I didn't think his car was gonna be running
traviZ guess we gotta go again

Thanks for the update!
Did you try to race him again with the TC off? Do you think you still can take him from a dig if you did?
Keep racing that vette I'd loved to hear more stories about it. You too TraviZ Killer Iroc you got there!

i think with more fine tuning and my new headers, ill take him from a stop for sure, i give up on the highway, think my chances would be better with a 5 speed?
