Is It Possible?

Hey guys, I have an 86 T/A with a 4bolt vortec 350 w/ the SDPC vortec TPI manifold, 1.6 RR's, .480 lift intake and exhaust. adj. fuel pressure regulator, 24lbs accel injectors, 1 5/8" edelbrock TES headers and SLP siamesed runners. Does anyone with a similar set up run against the LS1 camaros and T/A's, and ow did you do? Did you hang up with them or did u get walked or just flat out blown away? Keep in mind the Heads I have are stock vortec heads with the exception of the machining of the valve guides for the .480 lift. Im probably going to be running against someone I know with a 2002 Ls1 Z28.

Thanks,

i think it should be a pretty close race.

the ls1 may have you by just a car length or 2 though.

just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the response guys, Ive talked to some guys that have the same manifold set up and some say they can take some Ls1's and they had a smaller lift cam and less modifications than my set up. Guess it also depends on the driver. Im curious as to horse power ratings though. I compared my set up to the SDPC set up on their 1992 z28 L98 350. They had an Lt4 hot cam, 1.6RR's, high flow runners, 1 7/8 headers and a 58mm throttle body. The car made 356 hp and 285 hp at the wheels. My set up is almost the same except for the cam and the headers and throttlebody. I thought maybe I would be in the range of about or around 330 to 340 hp. Would this be way off or semi accurate?

i would say semi accurate.....

The hot cam is a little bigger i beleive. The headers are also going to add a little on the top end too....

I think it should be close..... Drivers race imo most likely.

Racem and tell me how it go's

should be a hell of a nice car.

I'm awaiting dropping a mild 305 in place of my 170hp monster.

Should be nice to see 275-300hp in it. Doubeling your hp while upping overall efficiency and possibly gaining gas milage is never a bad thing. + who knows theres the possibility that i can race a civic now without having to worry about a v-tec lol....

Thanks flaming, good luck w/ your mild 305. Im thinking if i get a 2800 stall speed w/ the set of 327 gears i have now it should be a pretty good torquer off the line.
