Video of my latest kill
My buddy has a 78 Malibu and just got done putting a fresh longblock with dart heads, edelbrock intake etc. It was dynoed with 374 HP and 423 TQ at the flywheel.. He has a th350 with a 4.10 locker rear. I think his gears are too steep with that tranny... I had to listen to him run his mouth all winter about how he was going to smoke me
You will see that both starts were clean, and he may had a slight edge right out of the hole. After i shift into 2nd we are still even, but i start walking him on the top of 2nd gear, and when i shift into 3rd a really walk him. I also did not use nitrous in these runs. I should have taken the bottle out of my car in front of them.. Now the big scandel is i used the spray, and you know how that goes.

Just a few bolt ons?????? What are these amazing bolt ons if you are blowing by a 375 horse malibu with probably at least 300hp to the wheels and running 4.10s. He should have launched like a bat out of hell. He didn't even spin the tires. Was he running drag radials? I am not doubting that you beat him fairly. I just think your car is a lot more than stock. I have a 1986 Z28 with a 430 horse vortec motor that seems to take off like your camaro. Anyways, nice win, just curious what your mods are besides nitrous? Thanks.

Congrats nice kill, and please get more, it's not very common to see actual videos of kills on this site.

That Malibu sure didn't launch for crap... both cars seemed kinda, well.... not slow, just like they didn't leave the line hard.

Yeah, I installed a camera mount on my dash for taping kills. I can move it to tape a car beating me too. I will post all the kills and losses i get this summer.
As for my car being stock, i mean the motor is stock, heads, cam, pistons etc. I have done about every other tweek possible exept for a stall to get it running like this.. The launch was a bit slow cuz of traction issues, he was running the same size width tire as me, and in the 2nd race he was spinning in 2nd so bad i went right by him. It would be alot closer if he had 3.42's and a stall i think. You gotta also remember that the L98 has good TQ (345 stock) Im estimating im putting close to the same TQ as him going to the wheels.
im guessing i have 300HP and 400TQ at the flywheel.

Those numbers seem about right after looking at your mods on cardomain.
There are very small, and very cheap cameras that work great for this kind of thing and just stick on with suction cups. My buddy puts one on the outside of his car for road racing, so you you can be rest assured that it can handle anything you can throw at it on the inside of the car.

thanks for the compliments.... My dash had a little crack in it so i didn't feel bad drilling a hole through it. I just bought a small collapsable tripod at wal-mart and unsrewed it from the legs. You will need a fairly small digital vid camera because of the rake of the windshield. I just use a cheap panasonic that cost around $250. Its not very good in low light though.
I just recorded a g-tech run about an hour ago. I will post the vid when its ready.

Here is a video taken with the $100 camera that I told you about. The silver Corvette is a C5 ZO6.

wow Stu, thats good footage for a cheap camera. What kind of Camera did he use? I used a cheap set-up on my RC monster truck with a security camera that had 50 meters of range. I had it going on my TV and i was driving the truck all over the backyards on our block like a bomb unit robot.. It was real fuzzy when i went over bumps though.
I'll get the link from him next time I talk to him. The camera is the size of a cigar though if I remember correctly. He used to just have a custom mount that he made out of an extra head rest. He'd just snap the extra with the camera onto the passenger seat before the race. I think that was him. If it wasn't, that's still probably better than drilling into your dash.
You could also always make a C-pillar bar (which would help handling and stiffen up the chasis) and mount the camera there. That would be the most stable I think.

I just carry a passenger for my kills, and have them film. Me and my circle of hot rodder friends tend to film all of our street races to prevent BS from flying about "Oh, I missed second" or whatnot. They're mighty fun to watch too.
