Getting busted for street racing

After posting a couple vids of street racing, speeding etc. It dawned on me that i was posting video evidence of my self breaking the law and letting anybody, i.e law enforcement the chance to see it...
Lets say a local county cop saw a video with tag numbers on the car, where the race occured and what time of day. Could i get a ticket for racing after the fact??? Anybody know the laws on this?? My face wasn't in any of the vids at least, and there were no speedo shots as for proof of speeding. There was illegal racing though... Any thoughts?

prob just look extra hard to catch you later since they know you do it but i dont think they can send you a ticket and what are the chances of any of them finding me but thats just what I think might be completely wrong..

Theres no date on the video. They cant get you for something if they dont know when it happened. The only way they could get a date is look at the registration on the tags. Plus you're face isnt in it. It could be your brother doing the racing or something like that. There might be a way they possibly could prove that you were street racing, but trust me they arent going to put that much effort in over a street race, you have nothing to worry about.

If they were worried about videos, everyone on streetfire would be screwed.

yeah, thats kinda was what i was thinking. They have more important things to be doing. Im sure a ticket would be dismissed anyway... whats funny is that my buddy in the video don't have a license, and his face is in clear view. The guy who started us has a beer in his hand on the first shot when he's in the car...

I don't think it's an issue unless you comit a crime against someone else.

not wanting to make anyone parinoid but......

do you all remember the morons who taped themselves blowing up mailboxes etc? now bout the vid of the street thugs beating up people?

they are now being prosecuded with that eveidence. there are other but no doubt you get the picture.

smart not putting your face, name, address, phone number, social security number, etc in the vid but ya, it would make me nervous.

of course since your "friend" gave you the video that some "friend" of his made......well, i wouldn't be worried.

next, ever notice how when the cop pulls you over the walks up to the car and says "do you know why i pulled you over?".......he want's you to self incrimnate. i.e. "ya, i was goin to fast" or in other words. "ya i'm a dumbazz please write me the ticket". if you get asked that question the answer is always..."why no officer". be POLITE don't be STUPID. they ain't the same.

if you get asked question about your vids......don't answer and call your attorney.

off the soap box now go have fun!!

As long as nothing showed in the video to identify you (face, scar on hand..etc), no one can prove it was you operating the vehicle.

The cops arent going to worry about sending tickets in the mail to ppl they see street racing in videos on the internet. They have a lot more important things to do. If they wanna bust street racing hard, theyre going to go and catch ppl doing it so there is no way they can get out of it. If they just send ppl tickets, the only thing they are going to stop is people making videos and posting them on the internet, not street racing.

Isnt there a statute of limitations on minor traffic offences like street racing and such

My advice is if your going to tape it, blur out the license plates and faces... then you shouldnt have any problems.

On your cardomain site you state that your beaten Bone stock 120,000 mile TPI ran a 13.5 with no nitrous and street tires. You must have a very uniqe engine my friend

Like I said in the post just above yours....Those people commited crimes against someone, along with property damage. You aren't liable for anything in a street race if you didn't damage anything or harm anyone.

Easier said than done. I guess it would be easy if you know what you're doing but I'm having a difficult time doing it

I think there is a limit of stat on this, they cant get you for racing if they dont catch you in the act.

keep ur plates and ur face out of the vids. Keep in mind, though no one may get hurt it is a crime against society and I believe today it is a felony charge.

theoretically, couldn't this thread be used as evidence that it was actually you instead of your brother or anyone else?

Don't sweat it though.. I doubt anything will become of it..

I realize that. However, my point is since this thread is now written, it can be viewed by anyone. If the law were to get their hands on it, it could be used in their favor.
