LO3 vs Passat

well once again my car is a stock LO3 with a catback. auto and such with sticky tires and wider rims which are now the 8" wide ones.

opponents car is a 01 passat with a 1.8t and a tiptronic tranny. car is also stock.

about 1 week back we are at a light the driver wants to go for it since i knew them. then brake torque as i just sit holding the brake. light turns green the floor it using the tiptronic to shift they spin a little tire on launch and take of so then i decide what the hell and just floor it. after about 3 seconds i start to pull hard on the passat. and a few seconds after im waving goodbye as a pull past and still pulling hard.

not to exciting since it is 2 very slow cars but just thought id share.

What's wrong with a slow race?! The fun just lasts a little longer!

When people are in my car and ask if its fast, I wait for it to shift to second and let it slow down a little, and then floor it to put it in first, and get the little throw back in the seats. People go whoooooa it is fast.

when i stomp on the camaro in first, it doesn't put you into your seat anymore like it did when it was stock. Now it just feels like it's going to slide in a 180 and there's lots of smoke everywhere

And here ladies and gentlemen, is a very good argument for a reason to not modify your car......

The sucky situation with the money is i had it (some), but it went it into stuff like new radiator, brakes, master cylinder, accident, tires, amp, subs, blaahhhhhh - mostly restoration type stuff or audio. Only $50 went to dual snorkel air cleaner. Sooo, until I graduate my camaro is gonna be mostly sho, and little go.

btw urban, i dream of my car doing that

Sorry guys, I really apologize for being mean, but I have got to get this out of my system...

Reading about this race sounds a lot like watching the Special Olympics...

(Again, sorry! )

The automatic passats is the slowest 1.8t VW made. Even with bolt ons they are still dogs.

Good kill though.

as a matter of fact my dad owns a 1987 IROC Z with the 5.7 and ive driven that and wow i know its a huge *** difference between mine and his but i can only dream for now.

and yes it is the slowest but the driver finds it funny and enjoys it not for beating someone but just for racing i dont know why.
