I'll give you an example back in the 70's my dad and his put a 396 in a *****' jeep. Jeep actually came down to look at it. Mothaffer had wheelie bars cause it would flip up on its back.. Now Jeep's are known for their torque, so what do you think something using new tech does? Im gonna make an *** out of myself and assume it has a 340 or 360 in it..

It uses the new 6.1L MDS hemi

Run's low 13's with AWD, possible to dip into high 12's

Not to make you feel any worse about this Jeep, but they claim it will run to 60 in 5 seconds on dry pavement or wet!

Don't care how fast it is, I don't like SUVs.

It is no faster than a trail blazer SS which should run mid to high 13's with ideal condtions and good driver. However, most road tests show that low 14's are the norm. 420hp is really nice but a 5000+lb curb weight doesn't help much. They are fast but if you run a 13.5 I would run him.

The 6.1 Hemis don't have cylinder deac- unless it was added recently.

Sorry but I strongly disagree. There are about 5 people in my local club that have either an SRT8 or a TBSS, and the SRT8s pull them everytime. Even switching drivers, etc, the SRT8s win. I have personally been at the track to witness a 13.2 out of one, forgot trap speed. Once you mod it, bye bye. The TBSS' are having problems with the transmissions. Modded and stock SS' are breaking the trans no problem. I will say the TBSS loves spray though!

Those are pretty darn good times for an SUV! The one at our track was running 14.2.

Yeah the trailblazers Iv'e heard of run high 13's, but are a helluva lot less expensive, plus there's a better aftermarket.

The Jeeps look badass though.

They are pretty fast, I would say mid 13s. 320 hp and a 4500 lb curb weight is roughly a high 13

taken off cherokeesrt8.com "hey...i went down to english town raceway park last friday to run my gc srt 8 on the quarter mile track....i got a 13.5 at 101.9"

now the vehicle isnt so unbeatable. Matt i dont know what english towns elevation is but if your higher and still trapping 101.5 then i would say you have a fighting chance.

I dont get what youre saying. The SRT8 has a 105hp drivetrain loss?

If you are trying to use this arguement to reason why a slow trailblazer SS could be as fast as an SRT8 Jeep (which it isn't, the Jeep will blow the doors off the trailblazer in any race on any terrain) then you are misguided to say the least. Area under the curve and staying in there is what really counts, and the fact that the 6.1 Hemi has a larger area under the curve than an LS2 as well as 5 gears instead of 4 like the Trailblazer Super Slow is what makes it a second faster in the 1/4 and run 0-60 in under 5 seconds. It also traps higher. If you want to beat an SRT8 Grand Cherokee your vehicle needs to run a minimum 12s consistently
