Ahhh, a real race, involving two real cars!

 

Both of those cars are monsters. Wow, did they sound good. It looks like that 3rd gen had a 4th gen interior swap as well. Both of those cars should be deep into the 11's.

 

Why do you think the Iroc lost up top? Was it because of the auto vs manual, the 4.10 vs 3.70 gears, the Ls6 heads, cam or tune? Man I wish LS1 engines were cheap!

You know I can't get enough of how those cars sound I've watched that vid six times already!

Sounded and looked like the 02 miss a gear on the first race but the thirdgen still had him. On that second race that 02 stole on him before he got to the 3 count!

 

Ehh, neither race was worth anything...

those are some very nice races! that iroc is bad ***. maybe aerodynamics were playing a role once they got to the higher speeds. not sure just throwing it up there. that iroc would literally tear me a new *** hole! that guy has the best of both worlds for sure. 6.0L ls1 .. no comment + 3rd gen body= DREAM CAR

i smoked the tires on that run. he put down 390hp there. there is a vid somewhere of me racing him with his new motor that put down 442hp and 39xtq. i left him pretty good.

me and the ss is a tough one to say. only manual trans car thats ever beat my auto, no matter the power. my car usually pulls up top on everyone like he did me. ive got no complaints on my auto being enefficient, my converter is perfect for my combo.
i have him in weight and i make more tq, but 380(5k converter)hp vs his 460+6spd hp takes me up top.

car is badass. he will be touching 10's on motor im sure.

modified ratchet shifter. i have a 6spd console in the car. just something different. it looks factory.

So how does that 5K converter drive on the street? What are your cam specs, compression ratio and injector size? How much exactly are you putting to the wheels if you mind me asking?

 

drives fine on the street. im used to it, so opinions may differ. motor is stock longblock (9.4 comp) cam is 235/237 on a 112. no injectors in this motor, its got a 830cfm holley hp carb on it. car only put down 383hp and 418tq. this is real world dyno #'s, no tricks. hot off the interstate, on et streets with 16psi in them through the converter and a 9" rear. that was with stock manifolds(z06 manifolds) car now has hawsk long tubes. prolly put down a tad over 400 in its current form if i had to guess.

 

I agree. neither race was fair. I was reading on another board they have a LT1 car with a LS1 motor that is fast as hell. Any Videos of it?

anyway.
its a BIG BAD 408 with 225 hand finished AFR's and a huge *** cam.
he put down 505hp and 470tq.

1st run he spun the tires and i was holding him off by a car.
second race was a dead hook and we were neck and neck till 100.... when he started inching me out till about 140. had me by a car.
both races were from 5/10mph to 140.
none on tape.

Looks like he has stock AFR heads. Did you run him before his tune? Your car is definitely fast bro!

 

i have no idea on the tune. its been REtuned. not sure when.

That IROC was nasty fast!!! I'd love to have a sleeper third gen like that and shock the crap out of everyone.
