Come on bro' let's be resonable about this!!!

So my brother has this 94 twin turbo RX-7...cherry and modded tastefully. I have my '88 firebird. Well I always thought it would be fun to give him a run and we talked about it on occassion. He live in Oregon and I'm from California so the vehicles have yet to be in the same neighborhood. Well he goes and pops his motor and turbos coming back from a car show a month or so ago. Everything appears to be toast. He prices things out and comes up with a price of around $10k to make things work again. Well he's decided to put in an LS1 motor and 4L60E transmission in it!!!!! Check out Hinson Super Cars . He's already sold $4000.00 worth of performance stuff off his old motor and is going to pick everything up to perform the conversion this fall. Now I'm happy he's going with good ol' American motor and all that stuff but good lord he's out to get me I'm sure!!! Tell me I have some chance in hell of someday showing him the taillights of my firebird...

OK...I'll be happy taking his RX-7 out for a test drive...

There's two over here with LT1s and one LS1 swap. Multiple SBC swapped cars as well. They're very popular.

Honestly, I think those cars are only good for engine swaps. Stock they're pretty useless unless you throw tons of dollars into them. Take the money you spend on a T-80 setup for one of those and throw it into an Fbody...look out.

My buddy has a 2ndgen RX7 (88 GL) and he's putting in the Mustang 5.0. It will be quick yes but it's still an import to me.

The rubber hes running doesnt help. Tires would be a great mod for that car speed wise, not to mention probably save his life... Whew that guys crazy, reminds me of my friends procharged intercooled cobra... Every gear grab thru 4th would result in a sideways car...

one of the main reason y he spun out is because there was so much sand on the track.

What times are you running in your Formula?
Kind of hard to compare rides solely based on mods.
I've got a setup somewhat similar to yours, so I imagine you're in the 13's somewhere.
Untuned with a Hypertech chip? eesh.

I still haven't made it out to a track. I'm going to get a chip burned for this thing as I just don't have the time or a dyno available. Every time I turn around this car eats another 200-300 dollars. Latest thing was a MAF sensor and new plug wires. 3rd set of wires....I hate the edelbrock TES. The headers leave no space to route the wires. I ended up getting the microtech MAF so we'll see if that does anything wonderful.

My brother just purchased an LS2 motor and tranny with 3 miles on them off of EBAY. $9500.00.......if I had $9500.00 to spend on a car.....mmmmmmmm.

Or drifting, which i find to be the biggest waste of gas there is. Though it is sort of fun.

Yeah I guess. My buddy owns 2 FC's (stock engines) and it just seems that the car doesn't like to drift. He's tried throwing it around and I have as well with no luck of it sticking in a drift. My car seems to do it better than his. He just bought an '87 Supra. Doubt he'll build that for drifting though

Hey Demon, was your car parked just outside a performance shop a couple days ago?
