that sound s about right. those are big cars but that i salso a lot of power nto the pavement. THey will rock and roll down the road. You will definetly need to be in the mids to high 12's to guarantee a victory. but i could be wrong.

i dont know much about the 300's but its a heavy car i know that my guess it would out weigh a 70 cuda or challenger by a few pounds. those cars with hemi's would run 12.7 thats with 525hp and a whole lot of torque. if the 300 is stock you should take it my guess they wouldnt do better than a 14.5 here maybe 13.6 sea level. The R/T chargers only get 15.3 and the ls1 camaros/T/A's get 13.7's here never seen the srt8's. If you lose tho look at it this way if you had in your car what he paid for his yours would be faster look even nicer and handle better should do that anyway.

srt8 charger is a good race for a stock Ls1 4th gen, however only when the motor is cold. as srt8's heat up, they start to pull timing and dont make much power. its been shown on srt8 forums the differences in ET's from 180-200+ degree coolant temps...and its amazing how much they lose.
i still think a properly driven 6spd ls1 4th gen has the edge...and a thirdgen is abit lighter. so your 87 ta should win...especially if it has any mods like tune/lid/exhaust/ or good gears out back

Unless you boil the tires at the launch you should win.
----------
Then he can't drive...no offense. If he had slicks he should've been able to launch pretty hard

An LS1 T56 combo in any 3rd gen should be a mid to high 12 second combo. That should be enough to edge out a SRT8. Also, the LS1 makes far more than its advertised 325hp. It is closer to 380.
A C5 vette with slicks should beat any stock LS1 3rd/4th gen. The engine set-ups are basically the exact same with the vette having a huge weight advantage.

a lid/catback ls1 will spit out 320hp or so, you put that in a thirdgen which weighs about 300 lbs less than a 4th gen, your running high 12s, right where the srt does, now if you have gears and a 6 speed, it shouldn't be a problem, just dont be surprised.

Depends on how you launch and shift
Either way it will be a GREAT run
have some fun try it out and let us all know...
Those things are fast..there popular here around Detroit.
If it has ANY mods at all though your in trouble
