91 Camaro

not sure of the aftermarket on my engine, i just put it in, it has an aftermarket holley throttle body
well heres a pic of the engine(not when it was in my car but obviously its the same) dont know what the side pipes are called? the runners? and it has flowmaster exhaust cat back 3"
i also believe it feels as if it has a shift kit

99 Saab
4cyl twin turbo
(not sure on the specs.. but obviously the twin turbo is all that matters lol)
im guessing i have no chance?
oh another question!!
the same camaro vs 99 ford taures sho(the sho has flowmaster exhaust and thats it) seems to be slow off the start anyway.. just good highway speed pickup lol
i personally think and pretty much know i should win that one

Car: 1987 IROC-Z Camaro
Engine: 5.7 350 TPI - SLP Runners, AFPR, MSD Goodies
Transmission: 700R4 - Shift Kit, Corvette Servo
Axle/Gears: BW 9 bolt, 3.27s
SLP Runners, 58cc throttle body, cone filter, stock manifolds, so thats about it i would suppose. about .2 sec quicker in the 1/4 than stock so figure a 15 sec car and go from there.

Twin turbo on the Saab? That's got to be an odd configuration for an inline. I've seen a Saab worked over with a huge turbo running 30psi boost and making 750hp at the wheels, but never seen a twin turbo Saab.

Just to be on the safe side, the Saab is made in 1999 right? There is namely and old Saab model named 99
But still, i feel tempted to call the Saab-owner something rude. As far as I can remember there are no stock Saabs with twin turbo setup.
Both the 9-5 aero and 9-3 aero/viggen came with one turbocharger unless you have some special models in the USA.

There aren't any special models in the US. It's either a really custom job, or else he swapped a newer Saab V6 engine in and made a twin turbo setup out of it. If he did that, he's got a really nice setup going on.

From the Line you will do well, and the Saab will play catchup
is the saab an Aero?
If it is you have NO chance at all...
It will catchup to you, they only have one turbo by the way...
If it has ANY work done to it at all your chances are Nul and void.

Then it's a Saab 9-3 Viggen. They did that (watch the making of, and going through a required driving school) for at least a couple years and you could order them with a package that had a peak horsepower of 300hp at 2200rpm and stayed right near 300hp all the way up to redline. It had a single turbo. I'd like to see a picture of the twin turbo setup if there was any way to get one.

I´ve seen a few twinturbo saabs here in Sweden (home of the Saab) but most people tend to go for just one big turbo. Do you happen to have a link to the company that built his car or did he do it on his own?
As for the race, he will win. A stock Saab Aero has about 250hp and is very fast once it gets off the line. Tuned Saabs have constant problems with wheelspin due to the fwd so you´ll probably be quicker the first 100 meters or so, then he´ll pass you.

I believe you, I just want to see a pic of it. I've yet to see a twin turbo Saab, and I've seen quite a few. My dad owns a Saab repair shop up in Maine and wants to give me a bay working for him just to do performance and custom modifications on Saabs. I really just want to see the twin setup.

Sure a stock l98 can run low 14s, but don't get your hopes up. You'll run a bunch of fusterating 15sec passes before you get it down and learn how to leave off the converter without boilin' the hides.

I too want to see pics of the twin turbo setup and who did it for him. The pre-03 Saabs were easy to tune and can make some huge numbers. The post 03 ones are no slouches (as long as they have the 2.0T or bigger motor), but they can't launch to save their life. I know, I have one. But when they hit about 40mph the needle just falls over. These things are at home in those "rolling races."
