Clipped an Eclipse
Well, he had sand, that's for sure, ran up behind me on the road at 70 mph. Tailgates me for awhile and then rips around me, okay, whatever. Then he slows down, the game is on. So I pull out and he guns it, heard him drop it down. So I gun it and freight train him, bye bye. So he runs up on the back again after I slow down and tries to go around, not again!
I gun it and really freight train him. I let up at 120 and started slowing down but he was still in it and starts cutting down the gap so I got back on it and pegged the speedo at over 140, say goodbye to the Eclipse.
Those 3.27 gears are good for high speed.
Need more top end HP though, time for an engine refresh.

Seems like everytime I'm in my car, someone wants to race. They must just be intimidated by a car that looks like it is going 100mph standing still
. Untill I get my turbo the only claims I have now is a 4cyl Probe (light to light) and a Ram 1500 w/318 (and I have a timeslip on the Dodge to prove it).

I dont like Eclipses, most people that drive them think they have one of the best cars in the world, but they really suck.
Back at ya'! Click on my vbgarage icon to get the whole scoop. I'm glad I was able to find one with the Trans Am aero package (almost all the V8 cars around here are trashed).

dont laugh at the modded awd eclipses. most of the time theyll show you up. around here in CT there are so many DSM's running around all with bigger turbos huge front mounts some with alcohol injection etc etc. they arent slow thats for sure....

I went shopping for an Eclipse 2 years ago, I found TONS of them with blown engines or scattered transmissions. I couldn't for the life of me find a decent one and I started thinking "how can these cars be good if everyone I find is scrapped". I gave up the search and bought a 91 Prelude then sold that to my sister a year and a half later and bought a 91 S10. I know a few guys in town who run fast Eclipses but they're constantly working on them and even the fastest one put down 8th mile times close to my Camaro and that car was trailored to the track. They're cars with alot of potential but they take alot of abuse at the hands of the people that normally own them, and they dont' take abuse well!

no they dont take abuse very well, i have a lot of friends with DSMs around here and the motors are good for handling power(blocks) but the transmissions and certain rears are just no good on them. but thats also why parts are so cheap most people instead of selling their DSMs part them out to make more money.
