L03 vs. 06 Mustang Gt and Srt-4
Last night I finally got bored of waiting to tune the car to race and took her out.I was going to race a friend of mine in a Souped up Saturn but when we were on our way there we raced and I stomped his A$$ so he didn't want to go from a dig. When we got there a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to race his 06 GT so I said sure knowing I would get my a$$ kicked but what the hell.Amazingly enough he only got me by 2 car lengths. After that race my other buddy with an Srt-4 Running about 8 lbs of boost wanted to run because he lost to the mustang by about the same so we figured we'd give each other a good run.We launch and almost immediately I had 2 cars on him and held him there all the way to the end of the line. Not bad for an untuned bolt on L03.I think I did pretty good. All in all it was fun, gives me more incentive to get this damn car tuned and the heads and cam installed.I wonder what she'd run then? Hmmmmm..

If your buddy in the SRT4 is only running 8psi boost he's got a bad leak someplace. He should be running closer to 12 stock and 14 to 16 if he's got Stage 1. I've got a turbo PT Cruiser (identical engine to the SRT4, just a different intake manifold for packaging issues) with Stage 1 and I spike 20psi and hold 14 to redline. I've got a new wastegate I'm waiting to install and that should have me holding closer to 17~18. My little grocery getter runs 14.4 in the 1/4 right now but I know very, very high 13s are possible with the new WGA.
Tell him to do a boost leak check.

Ditto - I've got an '04 SRT and I'm boosting 17lbs with minor bolt ons. I've got time slips to prove my 13.51 times. Either the SRT was not working properly, or the driver couldn't drive.

Chiming in on the SRT thing once more...stock, the car should be pushing 14-15lbs. in day/warm weather. Like most other turbo I4s, the car is nothing without its boost. You beat a malfunctioning car. Running properly stock, the car goes 13.90's no problem. Would have put that Stang in its place more than likely also. I used to have an '05 with minor bolt-ons that was boarder-lining 12's (if not already there), with only about $1000 invested in parts.
Good job with the others though. Things would have definately been interesting with the Stang if you had your parts installed.
