Darn Geos! They never learn!
Yeah, me again, picking on people that talk $#!T and don't know anything about cars. Anyway, I was at the streets of woodfield and saw a little car that I couldn't identify because of all the body mods and the wheels. I got out by the light to get on 355 and the little car pulled up next to me revving up and hitting his rev limiter which was probably at 3K or so. The arrow turned and he took off. I just pulled away like a reasonable person. He went flying up the entrance ramp and merged. I could see his underglows about 3 cars ahead. He slowed down and waited for me to pull up next to him. He was in his car with two girls and the whole group had to be in high school. He starts yelling that my car is slow and that he kicked my @$$ and stuff. Uh, when did this happen? I didn't know we were supposed to race. He followed me to the army trail road exit and came up to me at the light. WTF?!?! I was starting to get mad so I revved up at him all the way to 5K! I no it's bad to do that but I was PO'd. The light turned green and I floored it. For some reason, I actually grabbed pretty good and I was off. Way off. I look in my rear view mirror and see that he was way behind me. I go over to my buddy's house and this damn black car won't leave me alone. My boy comes out and tells them to leave. I told him how I smoked them and he says that it was a chevy metro. That sucked. My question now though is didn't GEO make the metro? Why did this KID race me with a 1 liter 3 banger? Why don't these kids ever learn? If chevy did make the metro, I must be an idiot because four years ago, my girlfriend had what I thought was a Geo Metro. I called it her little Geo. Maybe I should have called it her little Chevy?
Re: Darn Geos! They never learn!
Originally Geo (which is owned by GM) did make the Metro. GM decided to do away with the Geo brand (just like the idiots did to Oldsmobile
) and started to make some of the Geo vehicles (Metros and Trackers) under the Chevy name. That is why there are both Geo Metros and Chevy Metros, it all depends upon the year of the vehicle. I believe the switch was in the late 90s, but I could be mistaken as to the year.

ya now the have the aveo and potiac the vibe. They have to have them so thier total company average mpg does not look that bad. I know a guy that got back into by a silverado and it cost him 700 bucks to get the hood and front end redone. (we used to go up to his car after work when he would start it we would act like we were winding it up "just making sure you would get home"

Please don't take this the wrong way, but please, for the love of god, don't ever come to these boards bragging about beating a metro.

Re: Darn Geos! They never learn!
Suzuki actualy made the car for Chevrolet under the GEO name. It was the same as the Swift. There was a Swift Turbo I believe. It not well known but it was actually a better (racing) car compared to the Honda CivicHatch which it was in competition with. Honda guys hate them. But in any reguards, they are a peice of tin crap. The 3 cylinder was in the 3 door model only. The 4 doors had a 4 cylinder. Either way, he shouldnt be trying to race anyone, shouldnt be acting like an a$$ in driving in traffic, ahouldnt be trying to yell and start something, etc. Sounds like an immature, wana be thug trying to show off....nothing

Re: Darn Geos! They never learn!
yea the rest of us are out trying to play it down "naw it's only a 350". that really is the difference right there, the kid out on the town talking up a storm bout how fast his car is and the guy on the sideline holding the keys to a real car, shaking his head cause it ain't worth the time..
honestly im the only dude in cleveland doing custom prom work, doing all the lil tricks to extract that extra tenth. my friend who talked up his corrolla to me and subsequently got smoked, he just blew his engine cause he didn't change the oil!

Re: Darn Geos! They never learn!
I just don't get it though. Isn't the saying, "no replacement for displacement" hold true everywhere, even in the import world? WTF? Why race when you have a little four cylinder? Wasn't the metro meant for gas mileage? Okay, I know, if you jammed a LS2 into a metro, then yes, that metro would be cool but what the heck? I guess I just get ticked off at all these high school kids that watch the fast and the furious and think that if they stick a body kit and a fart cannon on their car, they will be fast. And then, to top it all off, they have to keep following me around trying to act cool and trying to race me. And for what? So you can prove something. They all need to go away. All of them. All the ricers should have their friggin licenses taken away and not get them back till they get out of high school! Sorry I'm venting but I see so many cars like this and they think they are better than everyone else but actually they are useless, bottle feeding, punk @$$, stupid F#&+ing butt munchers. Stop messing with V8s. You are underpowered and weak. And stop following me like you run the streets cause the only thing that you're running, is your mouth!

Re: Darn Geos! They never learn!
speaking of trackers, my freind has an awd talon tsi, he admits to being beat by a tracker that "couldn't even go down the street straight". his car is no slouch, he keeps the mods list a secret and the hood closed, but i've heard of his exploits, besides, if the talon won't win i'm sure his twin turbo supra will(some people get all the toys..).
In any case this race was infamous, we have no clue what powered this thing, but it made it move like no ones business..

Re: Darn Geos! They never learn!
I've always thought about doing that, that is, taking a small tiny car and putting a powerful motor in it. Like a LS swap into a Fiero and such. And keeping it a sleeper, and to add to the effect, add a primer hood...

The issue with a car that small, they are NOT stable at high speeds. The shorter the wheel base the less stable. Throwing 500 hp into a car thats 10-12' long sounds like an accident waiting to happen. Cool to watch, but I am sure a handful to drive.

14s were fast at one point in everyones life. I am just mad that low 12s high 11s are slow to me (our 86 GT with about 3g total invested runs that) and that I have to spend money to run faster.
Oh yeah, I have an Audi in my sig too... maybe I will get a picture with the two next to eachother and use that. Nothing wrong with looking at some clean cars while browsing the "Geo race" posts right?

??? I am an "acident" waiting to happen? NO idea what that means, but trust me, no acCidents waiting to happen here, just posting some facts for people to gather up and use in future conversation, or even a real world application (like a race car).

Re: Darn Geos! They never learn!
Easy with the name calling please. Ok, maybe moron isn't classified as name calling. So someone is faster than someone else. Let's get out a ruler and see who's is bigger! If you want to talk fast, come out to villa park IL and I'll show you some fast cars. Hint: My Uncle is founder and owner of Racing Performance Machines and Alcohol and Nitromethane cars make more horsepower in one cylinder than in our whole engines. Nuff said. And also I agree with Rockit, on a budget, so far, we are content. If you spent 30K and were only doing 12s, than yeah, your an idiot! But with one tenth that amount, we all good.
P.S. In case people forgot, this is a chevy based forum. Posting fords will probably get you flamed. I don't have a problem with them, hell, I miss my foxbody, but if you aren't posting in your sig some kind of chevy, expect some BS. Sorry. I won't flame you but I know others will. Also don't call Fords an accident waiting to happen, they aren't that bad, HELLO, where do you think the FORD 9 inch rear came from?

As we all know........Whatever you've got, someone is quicker/faster.........and that applies to EVERYONE on the street. And I hope nobody takes all that wrong. On the street its not a matter of if you will get beat it's a matter of when......and I speak from the side of a long street racing run which at one point i was pushing over 1k to the ground and got mine handed to me quite readily a couple of times.

Re: Darn Geos! They never learn!
i wasn't really offended. but i am pretty happy with my times, my GTA is a rusty piece of crap that some how got a new motor. im an 87 MAF only rated at 225hp stock and 15.1 in the 1/4 stock, i bought the car for 2k, invested 1000 in fixing what had to be, tuned it up timed it and ran 14.4's which is fast for stock with maf, and extra fast with a stock maf GTA coming in at 3500.
hell for another 500 i'd be in the 13's with a 20 yr old beater.
Oh and i have way more respect for a mustang then i do for alot of the crap on the streets.

the Audi i won't give crap for, but the mustang is my enemy no matter what. You understand it's not personal... i just hate your "car". but good job putting it together.. i guess. and no i don't like Geo's look at my earlier post. anyway we all agree the geo can't touch the camaro unless it has a GN motor and custom suspension. And for the record i would have dragged him just because he was being a ****head. I wouldn't have told anyone but hey i'll drag anything even if i know i'll loose, just ask the Z06 vette in town. lol

Re: Darn Geos! They never learn!
There is a hot rod shop that does the garage I work at does business with that is dropping some $45k turboed V8 rated at 1250hp into a Geo metro... Now I say a Geo, but I think the only thing left on that car that is from Geo is the VIN on the dash; they they took out everything and put all sorts of cross bracing in. Scooped out the wheel wells and put huge slicks on it with a wheelie bar.
Thats what you gotta watch out for, you and Ducatis'

The only people on a GM site that will rag on a long time contributor to the site for having a picture of his car in the sig... are the ones who are looking to pick fights. End of that story.
Some people will race anything, I personally wouldn't care what was next to me if the mood struck.

Like i said you are probably a nice person but i hate mustangs. an the Audi i don't mind because my family had one that we sold with 250,000 miles on it. I'm looking for a fight? i have a crappy 5.0 with tbi. I don't want to really drag you. I don't want to park next to you. You might get mustang on my nice GM.
What do you expect it's a camaro site. I didn't join the mustang site so i don't get crap. don't get mad at me your the black sheep here. Like i said you are probably a cool guy buttttt.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kjq3-2g-Bg

One thing that this thread proves is that there is a correlation between ignorance and 16 second timeslips...
And really c'mon, the third-gen f-body isn't exactly milestones better then a Mustang (lol, not by a long shot)...

Re: Darn Geos! They never learn!
I insulted my own car for a reason. It's a project car. and yes now i don't like you or your cars, back off! And the new camaro will kick the pussystangs a$$.
Third gen was an economy car with sports car clothes, ya I've made peace with thatt. The fourth gen was much better.
and don't get so defensive maybe some other people have imports and fords on here that will back you up.
I hate mustangs, i love camaros and yes i guess I'm missing out on real cars like the mexican focus and the mustang? but to be honest i feel pretty happy with GM. We build the Z06 that outperforms the Ferrari and wins lemans, the impala ss is very nice and fast and racing version seems to be holding it's own, the cobalt can get 1000hp with factory bolt ons. The Cadillac is top of the line and the GTO chassis is the far more advanced than the others. we also are going to be the first with an electric car to be massed produced and have more ethanol (E85) cars than anyone other US manufacturer.
Ya it feels goos looking down on the rest of you.
and it's okay if you get pissed at me. If i was you, I'd be pissed too. but seriously you are on a CAMARO site.... you have to expect this. I mean really? CAMARO.... read it.... now think about it... now comprehend it.......(light bulb goes off)..ya.
and yes i have a TBI for now, I'm in college, I'm 78,000 dollars in debt a stroker motor is not my main concern.

Instead of perpetuating negative stereotypes and misrepresenting us as narrow-minded ignorant morons who hate anyone who drives a different brand of car, why not take a step back and learn from what he has to say?

Re: Darn Geos! They never learn!
I'm dumb but it isn't just a camaro site, it's a TA site as well. LOL! Just messing with you all. Nothing wrong with the fords. Think about it, would you rather drive a kia sportage, or a ford lightning? Ok, how about, a honDUH civic, or a Focus SVT? Compare a S2000 to a mustang. Now that you all see it my way, fords aren't that bad now, are they? I am a bowtie guy all the way but also a fan of american muscle. It's muscle against rice nowadays, not ford vs. chevy anymore. Imports are becoming the threat in performance and economy. Get it?
Re: Darn Geos! They never learn!
This is ridiculous. I'm almost embarassed to post in this thread being a 3rd gen owner. You guys sound the way I did when I was 12, with my "brand loyalty." Some of you guys need to get over yourselves, your making yourselves sound like ****ing retards.
