Calling out Dalton
For those of you who have been paying attention to the new members, I am new and there is a new member named Dalton. If you haven't noticed, we know each other quite well from the military. I am making a challenge at oakbrook mall and calling him out. He believes that 305's are better than 350's and I want to prove him wrong. If he has the guts, he will race me motor to motor and with no head starts. This will end it cause neither of us have very serious mods. I believe the only difference is that he is manual and I'm auto. So Dalton, or I should say, Paul, I'm calling you out! What's it going to be?
P.S. To bad, diesel mechanics aren't as brave and as smart as MP's!

oak brook mall in il? if so let me know ill show up wth my 305 too...not saying id win but it would be fun
Re: Calling out Dalton
I emailed you so what it going to be? And by the way, mechanics know more about cars than military police. Too bad that 305's are better. And by the way, I'm auto and I'll still beat you by I say at least three car lengths.

That is impressive for a 305, you should get some heads, cam and some more mods to it and see what is can do.

Re: Calling out Dalton
My 89 Formula 350 ran a 14.10 at almost 99 with bad wheelspin and only has a cold air intake, cat delete, flowmaster cat back, and free mods. It has 123,000 miles too! I can almost guarantee that if I put my car back to stock,,,, No stock 305 car would beat me! I know a stock 305 Iroc or Formula with TPI, 3.45 gears, and a 5 speed with a good driver would come close... But I'd still edge them out! Thats just how it is!

Re: Calling out Dalton
305/350 enough already,, lots of 305 cars can outrun 350 cars (ive done it multiple times) and even more 350 cars can outrun 305 cars.. stock there pretty closely matched depending on yr's.. it all depends on condition of car. what kind of 305 or 350. mods, tranny, suspension ect ect... driver too.. so race and report back to us..
Re: Calling out Dalton
I raced him. This what happen. We get out to the light on 22nd (Butterfield or Cermak) and Busse (RTE 83) northbound. I rev at him and he rev at me. When he rev, it idle funny and sound like car may die. His car shake and look like POS. Light turn green and I take off but he get better launch somehow. He beat me to 45 or so, then it seem like I pull a little on him and then he take off like no tomorrow. I think he got NOS or something cause he pull on me like I no even moving! This from just shy of 60. By the time I get to the first light by the Walmart, he already almost to light at St. Charles (two lights northbound) and I see brake lights! WTF! How he do this. He lie to me, he say he have no NOS but it no fair. I have TPI and he have TPI. We both auto and he have big stereo and I don't. ALL4U is a CHEATER! I better not see him at the base. I don't get mad, I get even!

Re: Calling out Dalton
WOW! I don't even know where to start. Dude WTF!?!? I asked you to pop the hood and I would pop mine to check each other's set up. If you would've said yes, you'd see that there isn't any nitrous on my car. That "shaking around" that you mentioned comes from a lopey camshaft. You said it yourself that my car sounded like crap. I'll be the first to admit that it does and my car is ugly but we weren't in a beauty contest, it was a race. I will admit that I did sand bag you or maybe I should say tea bagged you cause when you started to "pull" on me, it was because I let off a little. When I took off as you say, that's because I floored it. I didn't cheat, so please stop saying I did. You don't know the problems this can cause for me because now everyone on the forum will think I'm a cheater and that isn't the case. Take it easy, I called you out because you were so sure you could beat me but the truth is that isn't the case. The little "surprise" you mentioned you were bringing was just those electric exhaust dumps which was cool but it doesn't give you ungodly power so that was your fault for thinking that you could roast me. Take it easy, it was a good race.

I own a 305 and a 350, I wouldnt say one is BETTER, but a 350 IS a faster car, there is no question about it. The 305 is not a good engine in my opinion. Tiny cam, restrictive heads= no *****

Now now, its not the 305s are bad, 350s are just better, with none of the drawbacks.

Re: Calling out Dalton
i kinda want to run tpi on a 327, or a destroked 350. i don't want to lose the 4 inch bore but i'd like to move my power up the rpm's a bit and do something a little odd.
i have an issue with the 305 because gm made one, had they not built the engine back a**wards no one would dog it. i know of other engines in other product lines considered to be the "underdog" but the 305s were truly cursed. It's a leftover of the smog era and not suited to performance.

if you want a 327 just go to a junk yard and buy a 4 bolt main 350 truck moter, and a 307..........put the crank shaft out of the 307 in the 350....Bam instant 327

Re: Calling out Dalton
I never understood why someone would want to build a engine that builds horsepower high in the rpms and try to put a TPI on it. Hell a TPI can't feed a 305 enough air past 4500 much less anything else. Thread Starter

Re: Calling out Dalton
Ok, let's get something straight, THERE WAS NO FREAKIN' NITROUS! None, zip, nada. Next, this was to prove that when it came to GM motors, the 350 was better than the 305 in the performance aspect. My car is not fast by any means but I have been in nitromethane and alcohol powered cars so I would need a definition of fast and Dalton is being a dork knowing that I do have a small background when it comes to racing. Dalton, stop being a nim-rod! If you want another race, I could bring the same car that I brought to McCoy and then we can race again. Would you be up for that? It would be for money this time and we would have to record it so that I can shut you up for good. 31B doesn't stand for mechanic yet I still managed to beat you. Are you learning anything from the military or is your MOS certified soap pick upper? Anyway, how about that rematch, Chevelle against your TA. Sounds fair to me.

Dalton needs to have someone read what he writes before he hits the post reply button. That was painful.
Sounds about right, a cammed 350 vs a 305, I would expect him to be able to pedal it and then win.

Re: Calling out Dalton
What! my IQ went down 10 pts for reading that mockery of the English language.
Re: Calling out Dalton
All4u, why would I race a nitro fueled car when my car isn't like that. Bring something street legal and then we'll talk. You told me when we were going to race that you didn't have much in mods and that your car wasn't running right. How is it then, that at the end of a half mile race, you are 20 or so car lengths ahead of me? That to me seems like your car is running top notch! On top of that, how come you pulled on me so hard if you aren't spraying? I didn't hear the whine of a supercharger or the blow off valve of a turbo, so all I can think of is nitrous. Don't lie, tell me what you were running under the hood and then I'll bring a car for a fair rematch.
P.S. Screw that stupid chevelle of yours, it is useless. Where are you going to use that kind of horsepower other than the strip. Save your trailer queen. You'll be needing it after I get my bonus. You know mechanics get more bonuses than the hacks!

If there is another race, please record it, I just laughed my *** off reading this thread. Ive beat a 350 iroc, but ive also gotten my *** spanked by a different one so its hard to say.
