what kind of power numbers would i roughly need to be making to be able to beat a ram srt 10 with a few mods? ive been looking into a 383 with about 500hp and about 500tq. would it be a close race if i just had my bfg kdw tires?

He has and aftermarket throttle body, a chip and, a full exhaust with long tubes and no cats.

 

bigger engine. bigger tires. and perhaps beef up tranny, and get better gears.

 

A 500 HP v8 in your car would destroy that truck due to HP to weight ratio. I have been waning to run one.

 

500hp is alot of motor.. i'm around 460hp and running mid 11's.. those trucks go low 13's.. you will destroy it.. aerodynamics and weight are all in your favor..

 

I work at Cincinnati Auto Auction and i've driven one here and there. They run high 13's and there 6 speed manuals. They only come with 245's in the rear so with stock tires they will have a traction problem.. They're sick nasty though to drive around

 

I ran one down here in fla, on the turnpike. He didnt look happy to get beat by a POS > I could see him crying in his rearview mirror

 

there is a local supercharged one that runs 8.0x's in the 1/8 on his street tires. i believe thats all he did is put the supercharger on along with the tuning required.

 

so you mustve lost if you saw him crying in HIS rearview mirror

 

I've never once seen one of these hook up good on the strip, let alone the street. Lots of power, but they really don't put it down well at all. I would think at 400hp build would race one pretty well.
