I haven't had my Camaro to long and I haven't been doing much with it.

But its (engine wise) is a bone stock 88 Iroc-Z. Well, when I first got it I was driving down one of our main highways and at a red light a harley pulled up...and we decided to have some fun. At the green we both gunned it. Of course he accelerated way quicker than me and jumped ahead so that his tail was at my nose. Well from there I leveled with him and started pulling away and by the next redlight he was right beside me. We reached 100.

And then the other day I was driving and 2 Suzuki Crotch Rockets pulled up beside me..looked at me...and gunned it. We were in a 35 zone and I was going 40. They gunned it so I said what the heck and decided to try to atleast keep up. I got to 105 before the Cop interupted us and was right on there butt.

I found that amazing that my car was able to match that harley and keep up with the crotch rockets. I mean I know that crotch rockets could have easily smoked me if it was just a wide open straightaway but I didn't expect to keep up with them that well.

 

There's no way in hell you could have even been close to keeping up with the Suzuki's if they gunned their bikes. Sorry.

Even tiny stock 600's are running high 10's/low 11's. Unless you're packing 550+ hp... are you?

i think i could start out in 3rd gear on my 600 and still beat a stock iroc pretty badly.

 

Even most of the 500s, and 250s will kill us.

Even if you have the hp, youll never have traction on a public road to keep up with a crotchrocket. Sorry.

 

Been there many times and found it fun to try to race crotch rockets. They accelerate so fast you can't even read their license plates. A few weeks ago I was cruising at about 70+ and I had one pass me so fast I couldn't tell you what color his bike or helmet was. I caught up with him about 2 miles up the road while he was at a gas station, He said he was about 185mph when he passed me. Don't know too many cars that will do that.

^^yeah i was gonna say u beat the rider not the bike. Mine is a 2006 GSXR 1000 and the only car i've had keep up with me was a new GT2 Porche. Not sure what was done to it but i doubt he was stock. We took off from 90mph and i pulled ahead of him. Don't know how far ahead i was since i was busy fighting the front wheel trying to keep it down. I let off at 170mph and he was right where my rear tire was. Man that car was fast!!!

 

I was driving from Chicago Last week west on I-80 when I had a twin turbo Testarossa ask me if I would like to race. I told him I would race him only if we ran 200 ft, then after that I would be out of breath. I wouldn't even think about racing his car. He gave me a ride and I seen his top end and it was scary impressive. His Red-line was almost twice of mine. 1st time I ever went that fast.

 

I had the privilege of being introduced to cars with a suspension shop owner. When I first got nitrous on my Camaro it was running a 150 shot through a plate on street tires with a welded 3.23 rear end and street tires. The first night I raced a serious race we went to a neighboring town and he immediately told a guy on a crotch rocket that we would race him so long as he drove his own bike. The guy wouldn't even think about it and he thought my car ran 14's. I ended up racing an 11 second Mustang and beating him pretty badly that night. It's the street, anything can happen. And as said before, you beat the rider not the bike.

 

had an 02 r6 topped out 170 mph, ran 11s. I raced 2 cars on the street (which was dumb), a corvette and a WRX subaru. It was a joke both times. Unless you have a 10 second car its just not even worth the gas. The bike you "raced" was probably at 1/2 throttle.
