me and my buddy mike (timinsk) and his gf were just crusing down 84 west in my 2000 explorer with a 5.0 mustang motor in it and i saw a riced out eclipse had big spoiler on it and all. Then i saw like hids right behind me another eclipse so then he went out in the left lane then i just floored it going about 100 down hill before exit 30. I killed it my explorer is stock and his **** was hooked up i was like wow that crap is slow and i had 3 ppl in my car i was like damn this truck moves when it wants but after that i got off and they just went.

i laughed at him..


Then we went out again down 84 east like at midnight in the explorer again. Got on the highway and saw a red evo. I was like yay another race . I didnt care that it would kill my truck but i was just sitting side by side to him then he took off in the right lane and i was in the left to pass a car in the mid then came close again. He took off and i was chasing him down. Then i got in the right and he got in the left then he down shifted and we ran each other. It was hilarious.. Then as soon as he shifted me and mike saw like a saprk come out from the middle of his car we were like oh **** then he slowed up. We came to exit 32 i got off then saw a cop with his lights on flying in the left lane and thats where the evo was but idk if he got pulled over.

 

Confused, (I'm not sure if a read it right) How does your explorer have a 5.0 mustang engine and it's stock??

 

explorers came with the 5.0 as an engine option to

 

OK, Didn't know it was the same one as the mustang. That's pretty cool

 

yeah its the eddie bauer edition so it has the 5.0 it says 5.0 HO right on it and thats what the older stangs had.

 

Yep 5.0 with GT40 heads and a revised lower intake on it. Makes more HP/TQ than the 5.0 in the Mustang despite its "TRUCK" origin.

 

The Explorer motors came with either GT40 or GT40P heads, an "explorer" intake (which is very very similar to the Cobra intake from 93), and a weaker than the Mustang cam. In an explorer it's a good motor, drop it into a Mustang with a Mustang cam, and you have a quick car!
