I think its good to have variety, wouldn't it be boring if we all had muscle cars. Although I see too many impalas, malibus and camrys. And in my town, which is full of bemers and benzes , there are only a handful of third gens, which I find pretty cool to be part of lol!

Single shirts are easy to get. I got my club shirt for like $12 & is as good today as it was 3 years ago!

That's why I said something about the mugs.

First car was a 99 civic Ex, it was a fun little car for high-school i guess. Soon as I graduated I bought my 3rd gen and I've never looked back, never will.

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

I came from the supra world.... I owned an 89 white n/a supra and still have a project 90 grey turbo, I love supras but I started to get tired of import after a while so I picked up an 89 camaro rs for another project.

When I bought my camaro, I kinda felt like I belonged in the domestic world

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

I'll post my rice

Its kind of a half breed.. Dodge body, but everything on the car was the same as a mitsubishi eclipse.

'01 stratus coupe.. bought it new at the beginning of September. I still remember the first time I put gas in it, was running on fumes and I sat in line for like an hour at night on the 11th

I can't even remember all the crap I did to it.. Vortech supercharger, baer brakes, borla exhaust, wiseco pistons (wasn't planning on that, but I took it to a local shop to get tuned on a dyno and on the first run it ran really lean and a piston chipped). Carbon fiber hood that I never got around to painting in true ***** style.. It was fairly fast, never raced it though. Mainly went to local car shows where it would either be put in with the imports and win its class, or put in with pony cars and get skunked every time

I know it's too late for your old car but......

Ditch the stripes, ditch the white rockers, swap the steelies & hubcaps for aluminum simple 5-spokes (not chrome). Shave the front bumperettes, lose the wing. Lose the mud flaps.....Lower it & I can see an Impala SS-ish style coming out. I could point out a few more things, but you get my point.

Simple & clean.

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

I don't think putting all that work into a FWD V6 92 Century would be worthwhile. I'd rather buy an Impala SS or a bubble Caprice than spend money on making that old beater look nice. I'm sure that thing is dead now. I saw it for sale on craigslist for $180 and 150k awhile ago, and it needed a lot of work.

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

weird thing is,one time I let my brother borrow my camaro while i was at the movies, he raced a kid we knew in a supra that looked JUST like that. beat him 3 times, they even bet 20 bucks lol. so i don't know if 1-it wasn't turbo, 2- he didn't know how to drive (probably it, my brother said he almost got sideswiped by him, when he was trying to pass in the other lane, then the guy almost lost control, and to top it off he blamed losing on the fact that he was wearing sandals lololol) oh not to mention the kid tried to tell me it was a v12, when i asked him to count his plugs for me he pointed to the relay box and said that was his spark plugs...no offence to anyone who might be, I'm not racist, but he was asian :P

haha, some people embarrass the supra community and mess it up for the others. Like action bastard who likes to jump that poor old supra in the backyard. It wasnt meant for jumping ramps, it was meant to be a 1986.5-1991 luxury sports car.

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

The first car I ever had, when I was 16, was a brand new 1995 Accord sedan with the 5 spd and 2.2 L 4 cyl and I had it until this past November when a 85 y.o. man pulled into his driveway 10 FEET in front of me while I was doing 45. My skid marks were a whole 6 feet. My wife also has a 93 Accord 2 door that she drives for work as a winter car as she is a Hospice nurse and drives 200 miles a week.

I have also had a 'busa that was totaled when it was 6 months old. A semi blasted through a back county road and smashed the bike into a million pieces, thankfully I hit the ditch first.

I never had a ***** but I did own a 2002 Audi TT that was pretty damn quick and sexy to match.... sold it for a supercharged 04 stang. My friend bought the audi and now the motor is blown...

I love my 86 camaro, but my 99 prelude would have ran circles around it all day. i also had 20g's in it. probably would have been cheaper to make my camaro faster, but i was still getting 25-30 mpg racing all over the interstates in it.

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

My first car was a truck. It was my dad's hunting truck- a 1985 Nissan 720 4x4 extended cab. All my buddies had Big 3 trucks- mostly Chevys and Slopars.

So, I did a 3" suspension lift, 3" body lift, cut off the exhaust and added a Thrush super turbo w/ a turndown, K&N, NISMO carb, Comp cam, did some head work, zoom clutch I think it was, accel plugs, wires, and coils (I had 2 plugs per cylinder on the 2.4L). That was before adding a double hoop roll cage, prerunner bar, and about 12-14 KC lights to the front end and roll cage. The truck would die if I turned them all on at once LMAO.

It was light, and fast for a 4 banger truck. Smoked my buddies S15 4x4 Ext Cab all the time, but that 2.8 was a gutless wonder on a good day going downhill w/ a 50mph tailwind.

I guess I was rice before rice, but it was when it was cool to have a 2wd import in the weeds with a loud system (mid 90's), not a lifted import.

LOL ok here is the worst rice-mobile (but not riced out). Alright i'll just say it i owned not 1 but 2 Geo Storm Gsi's . The 92 was the runner 93 was parts would still have them if i could have gotten parts for them. Blew both motor having fun running around. Got clocked on the Thruway at 132 by a friend who was a cop (scary **** in that rust bucket) he and i could not believe it. I'll post a pic or 2 of her if i can find them. Best thing about that car was the handling and motor. Just junked them to get the money for the 85 Iroc i think it's a big improvement back to American Muscle.

7 MPG?! You must be making some SERIOUS power, or have a few tons of iron loaded in your car.

Rod Saboury's twin turbo 427 1963 Corvette makes well over 2,000 Horsepower and runs 6.90's at around 210 MPH. He gets 10 MPG's on the highway. I also believe that stock 305 TPI's got 26 MPG's.

You shouldn't brag about crappy gas mileage with a third gen.. Camaros have a relatively low .34 drag coefficient due to the new (at the time) 62 degree "flush mount" windshield. I believe most Firebirds stock were around .32. There's a guy on ecomodder who claims to have gotten his Third Gen Firebird down to .29. But, unless he spent big bucks on wind tunnel testing, I don't think that's very true.

It's also easy as heck to take weight off of Third Gens if you're willing to sacrifice creature comforts. I've pulled my stock dash out, front & rear seats, A/C & heat, radio & all 4 speakers, spare tire & jack, the console, door panels and arm rests, the list goes on..

After I have my engine rebuilt, I'll be buying the VFN 1 piece dash which only weighs 4 pounds, and Corbeau CR1's since they're some of the cheapest reclining seats around, and only weigh 27 pounds. I should get very good gas mileage, by all the weight that I'll remove throughout the next two years of my build.

Fiberglass hood, fiberglass fenders, Dart Pro 1 aluminum heads. Even aftermarket iron heads weigh over 100 pounds per set, while the aluminum Pro 1's weigh only 28 pounds each fully assembled. (Valves, springs, etc..) Then there's all the weight I could take off with a forged crank, forged rods, forged pistons.

Don't you just love rambling on about useless topics at 4:26 in the morning? I do.

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

my truck averaged 9 mpg or at least thats what the dash told me it had a pretty stout 6.0 8 inch lift 22 inch wheels with 38'' nitto mud grapplers 4.11's and straight pipes no cats no mufflers just headers and a set of pipes all they out the back my foots always to the floor.. and yeah 7 mpg is sort of exajuration or however u spell it but u get the point...

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

Only owned one but it was a great car but had some problems that the dealer didn't mention.
1998 Mazda Millenia S 2.3L Supercharged Miller Cycle engine. All leather interior and quick. I like to compare it to a BMW but better cuz the price was a lot less.
One car that i dream of having someday is a 1993-1997 Supra TT. I would trade my Z for one but only a well maintained one with low miles. I almost bought one before my Z28 but insurance was to high... dam speeding tickets

I had a Geo Storm GSI also! Great car for what it was. Handled great and was fun to drive. I to trade up for a family car ( 2 car seats in the storm sucked). Got my 84 z and starting to fix it up after 12 years of ownership, 5 of those were sitting in weeds.

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

Not an import but I had a '93 talon tsi awd, cruched the blow off valve and I would beat ls1s, barely, but still. The timing belt broke and I used the money I got for ir to buy my roc. I'm looking to get another Talon tsi awd or eclipse gsx to build up, it was a beater and to see the faces of the people I beat was priceless, but I wouldn't trade my roc for almost anything.

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

Along with my 3rd gen, I also own a 5spd 2003 Civic LX coupe (em2). It has an intake and fart cannon. (previous owner installed, lol!) I actually had dreams of dropping a K series motor in it and maybe a turbo. I kinda still think the exhaust has a nice mellow tuned sound to it.

Then I bought my third gen and realized how far the civic actually is from a sports car, and how humiliating it is to be beat by a moped.

I still love the Civic for it's 40 MPG but am Never going to spend another dollar trying to make it faster.

Although I must say I can't get over how the civic chassis feels so rigid and planted, unlike my third gen, and how it does not feel like its riding on springs made of concrete. But I'll take the sound of a rumbling and slightly misfiring all American V8 any day!! (except for the hecho en Mexico part on the crate motor)

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

I'm going to be a r!cer and bastardize the IROC. I'll drop a BMW N73B60 in it. 6.0 DOHC V12 that makes over 440 TQ, over 440 HP. Or a SOHC Ford V10 from the F series trucks or E series vans. 305-310 HP and roughly 420 TQ.

I've been wanting to stick something in it besides the typical Chevy small block, but in the end that's what it'll have.
