Piggies
Piggies
I had a pretty lucky day in a way. First off I get pulled over at about 1:30 PM in a 35 going 50. The police officer comes up to the window and asks if I knew why I was pulled over, I actually did not know that the speed limit was 35 thought it was 45. He takes my licence and registration...ok cool...Im getting a ticket. Just what I need...a 200 dollar ticket and classes. So he gets out of his car and sprints to my window, hands me my info and goes its your lucky day, sprints back to his car and takes off like a bat out of hell with sirens blaring. My second event of the day was quite interesting also. Im cruising down a main street in town, stop at a red light, Take in mind I am in my dads brand new Jeep SRT8. I take off pretty fast, but not full throttle. All of a sudden I look in my rear mirror and theres a piggy looking for dinner. He gets right on my ***, and I mean close.....comes flying up to me going pretty fast. Anyways he backs off, and pulls up next to me at the next stop light. These are his exact words. "You thinking your ******* cool dont you?" "I could pull your ******* *** over and arrest you ***." I said "Well im sorry officer I did not know it was illegal to take off from a green light" His words "Your ******* lucky I have another call" then he took off. Wow did I get lucky today. But since when was it illegal to take off from a light at half throttle???????????? Just a story I thought I would share. Had to tell someone other than my GF, did not want to tell my parents bout this thought

Re: Piggies
Haha, thats kinda weird and amazing at the same time. Maybe he was looking into a Srt8 Jeep and his salary couldn't allow it? lol
Lucky me even being mexican I hardly get cop attention, I get lucky at times too, like taking off from a stop light doing hard launches then a few minutes later just driving normally and looking behind me and seeing a ''Piggie'' as you call em. Haha
Keep on doing your thing just look around before you do it like I do.

Re: Piggies
EXCESSIVE ACCELERATION...lol be careful, that is up to the cops point of view on whether or not ur gettin it. Half throttle in an SRT8 could easily be seen as excessive acceleration, i doubt you were "babyin" it at take off. My buddy's dad has one and that thing launches extrmly hard
Re: Piggies
Im innocent. That was my first time driving the car, and the pedal is so sensitive, I backed off as soon as i took off. I wasnt speeding all the way up to speed limit. I just jumped forward and backed off. hahah o well, what a day

Re: Piggies
Ive had a similar story aswell. Here in canada if you take off and it appears rather hard you get a reckless driving charge...and its a criminal offence not just a traffic ticket. In my T/A with my old tpi 355 it was a touchy throttle and would sometimes stick and idle at 1200rpm.Well here I am with the tops off..music up enough to feel it but not distract others...light turns green and I let off and reached the speed limit within a short distance
lol Needless to say and undercover cop followed me home and as im pulling onto my street he pulls infront of me! Gets out and by this time im thinking damnit Im royally screwed and not only that..everyone on my street can see this happening.Comes to the window and says if he wasnt inlove with these cars and liked the sound of the motor id be well on my way to the station for reckless driving so try to keep my foot out of it.I quickly said thank you sir wont happen again..its a lil hard to control a bull lol, luckily he found it funny and left.I changed my jeans and shorts and drivers seat right after that lmao

Bacon is still bacon whether it's good or bad.
Just be respectful the entire time as in yes sir yes ma'am kinda thing. Show them that you arent a bad kid, show remorse for what you did, and dont make excuses.
One of the cops that pulled me over/ only one that has given me a WRITTEN warning/ and the meanest one thats pulled me over/ now a good friend of mine said, "we don't like writting tickets, most of us are car guys too, but we are out there to make sure that no one is going to get hurt, including you." He also said about writing me the warning " we don't want to cost you money, we just want you to learn a lesson. If we can write you a warning and can tell that you've learned from it then we both have won"
^This was all said a couple weeks ago, way after he had pulled me over^

I believe the proper term is..."improper start from a stopped position". At least thats what my ticket said 20 years ago when pushed off a lite a bit harder than usual.

Re: Piggies
I also got nabbed in my "76" Gremlin X. 304, 3 speed manual. Dumped the brand new clutch, pulled a tire up, and bammmmm cop grabbed me right up. Told him the clutch was brand new, and we went to the shop that did the work. Owner verified, and cop told him to adjust it properly. I got a ticket for open headers, and told the shop owner to leave the clutch alone.

Re: Piggies
when you say "wheel pull" do you mean a front wheel?
if so, then there is no way you did that by accident lol.
it takes close to 550 hp to pull a front wheel.
or did you mean you did a burnout

Its tecnically an "Unsafe Start". Just got that last year for burning the tires and the rear kicking out. Best part is I still won the race

I'm pretty sure most police officers can buy nicer cars then our 25 year old poor-man corvettes/SRT8 Jeeps...Hell I know a Toronto Police officer with a 745i that will blow the doors off any JEEP/thirdgen
