I look like an idiot in there sawing the wheel back and forth just to keep it straight. Might be time for a front end rebuild i think. or tires. or both

My 87 Sport Coupe LG4 has an 85 speedo. but i had it pegged on the interstate. got up to and estimated 120. the front end started to lift, and the steering got very light. I backed off.

Re: Fastest you've gone
I have play in the steering wheel too, it's all in the box on my car. Got a new lee 670 box for it but not installed yet.
As for top speed the few times I've taken it to near a dollar fifty it's always been rock steady. The fear was stopping if I needed too. 10.5" rotors and street pads don't like those types of antics. My suspension is all tight, no play. Aside from the box issue steering is tight as well. Needs an alignment though. All that weight loss up front has given the car some positive camber. It's skyjacked in front right now, at least I'm not driving it currently. I'd destroy my new nt05s.

Went down I16 at about 11PM one night with a hefty girl in the passenger seat of my 92' L98 Z28. Speedo said 145 but her phone and my gps said 153-155. Maro was stock. Pedal had more to her but I backed off after she felt like she was ready to lift off. lol

Re: Fastest you've gone
I use my 91 for NASA Time Trials and hit 6,000 rpm in 4th gear which is 137 mph then take 5th (.83 overdrive) and continue to accelerate for about another half of the straight away at Willow Springs and Cal Speedway. I'm going over 140 lap after lap before hitting the brakes for 20 minutes at a time. I have a carbon fiber drive shaft and the car is stable and smooth as can be.

151. Speedo only goes to 120. Was playin around on the highway with a vette that I knew I stood no chance against. Ran side by side for a good while after he showed me whos boss. Signalled me to follow him. We stopped at a gas station. He said "Do you have a clue how fast you were goin?" Nope speedometee stops at a buck 20. Vette guy says," A hair over 150, blows my mind"..... fastest I've gone to thos day.

I was doing 170mph, in reverse, while filming a porno with underage illegal aliens in the back seat smoking heroine in a stolen hookah.
In all seriousness i've done over 100 in Ellie. Its not because i topped out, i just caught up with traffic. I don't know what the big deal with top speed is. You are just driving in a straight line. How many G's have you pulled in a turn might be more fun...if there were a way to measure it.

Re: Fastest you've gone
u want scary when i was younger i had a chance to get my tad license , now mind u the fastest ive ever been down the 1/4 mile at this point was a mid 10 second car
the dragster will 60' in 1.0 or faster , i never completed my license testing i got to scared on my half track pass , that was the most violent launch i have ever experienced

it takes a special person to drive a tad or top fuel car, one day soon id like to give it another shot

Re: Fastest you've gone
I think that might be fun to do that. I doubt it was more scary then some of the cars I've driven.
remember it's not how fast you go that's the scary part its the hell the hell am I going to stop when this thin falls apart that's scary.

Re: Fastest you've gone
hehe fastest I've done myself was doing high speed tuning runs, due to not being able to load long enough at a given RPM until I'm in third gear for the 6000rpm and over mark (I wish there was a dyno closer to me). Decided to try on a nice long runway that I have access to and chickened out at 275km/h in overdrive. I still had about 1500rpm to go before the rev limiter and was still pulling hard. it looked as if my hood was going to fly off and top was down quite the rush. However I did not want to run out of pavement to stop and cook my brakes.
must have burned a 1/4 tank with that run alone hehe!
