Re: Fastest you've gone

The worlds biggest (or highest, what ever you want to call it) speeding ticket is held here, in the great state of Texas, set by a guy in a 2009 Koinigsegg CCXR, he was going 242 mph. Obviously he let the cops catch him. Prob got some pics with the cop who got him, has the ticket framed in his bat cave garage. (that car costs over 1 million dollars so I suspect he is rich.

no you have to have your computer PROM recalibrated for it. Or thier is a technical article on this in tech section about wiring in a switch to the governor which allows higher speeds but it hurts the transmission so it is not recomend doing it often. the easiest way is the speed limiter programmed out of the chip.

well so far cant get it past 111
Gonna blame the 305 for having no power past 4000rpm and the tranny not shifting into od at wot.
At 111 is was almost a smoother ride then at 60

700rf? mine is the same way, once you hit that high gear its like its too much for the engine to keep going, you just run our of "go" lol

In all seriousness i've done over 100 in Ellie. Its not because i topped out, i just caught up with traffic. I don't know what the big deal with top speed is. You are just driving in a straight line. How many G's have you pulled in a turn might be more fun...if there were a way to measure it.
dude this is some of the funniest **** ive ever heard!!!

155 mph in my friends Lightning, made like 10 passes trying to go faster and faster each time lol. 125 mph in my 95 bird, only did that once because it shook so bad. 140 mph on a rocket, WILL NOT do that again, was scared shitless.

I haven't had the chance to get over 125 on a rocket. Did you do it on the highway or a track?

Honestly I dont really know, I have an 85 mph spedo.. You go faster and it spins back around.... so far ive spun it all the way around and up to 40 again. Not topped out. Just started to vibrate a bit more than I am comfortable with.

Re: Fastest you've gone

I did this once... and never did it again. I had a 1989 5.7 tpi Iroc with a lot of little bolt ons. Went out on the highway after a night out with some friends all I remember is laughing like an evil mad scientist as the highway blurred... speedo gauge was broken so I couldnt calculate the speed. I remember them screaming in terror and jumping out anxious to get out of the car.

You sure about that? 130 seems a bit optimistic for a crossfire injection car.

I can only go by what my buddy said. But I have had a Caprice with a 350 up to 125, and I was doing at least that in my Camaro.

Transmission: 700R4 w/ Stage 2 shift kit & stall
Re: Fastest you've gone

Never gone on a high speed run with my GTA yet, but I've had her at 87 on the highway before. Sure there was way more to go.

Re: Fastest you've gone

117mph twice.
1st time, traffic came up pretty quick so I had to slow down
2nd time I had a friend in the car who started screaming like a little girl once I layed into it at 70. There wasn't even anyone around and it was the middle of the day out in the farmlands of Indiana. ( Highway of course. Theres no way I go anywhere close to that on the streets. )

Now I can't even try to top it out because my damn digital speedo is busted.

Re: Fastest you've gone

Buried the needle for a 1 minute top speed run on the highway. I've got a Canadian speedo so the needle was pegged past the 240 kp/h mark.

I had two friends with me too. The front seat passenger was screaming at the top of his lungs and the back seat one was crouched down. Most surreal experience. The car will actually "float" over any slight bump in the road.

In hindslight it was a stupid thing to do. Would have lost my license for a good while, or even worse could have killed us all.

Won't do that ever again.

Re: Fastest you've gone

I recently hit 125. I think I hit the speed limiter because for a split second it felt like the trans popped into neutral or something. This happened right as I was about to let off so it's hard to describe what happened.
