I've got this kid at school with an 86 Buick Regal type CL car and my car is an 87 IROC. brand new 305 engine TPI with 3.23 gears with 700r4 auto. I think he has a six cylinder but what kinda engine does the CL have???? I'm pretty sure I could take him but just to be on the safe side....anyone have any ideas

3.8L v6 140 hp and yes you could waste him

 

Well just make sure it isnt a 3.8 turbo like a T-Type or something.. then you might be in for some trouble!

 

I hate the look of those cars they look like crap I mean I only thought Hics drove those cars...

Dude please dont get me started on that.. you think Regals look like crap? OK maybe the luxury models with vinyl tops and wire hubcaps. But if you look at a sport coupe or Turbo-T, T-Type, or Grand National, those are some sweet looking cars! Fast as hell too! You should NOT classify cars based off stereotypes, because there are alot of ignorant people who think third gen Camaros are hick mobiles too. Dont show your ignorance by basing your views on cars off stereotypes.

 

Im saying all regals are lookin pretty rank(GNs, TTypes, regals, etc) I like the curvier look of the new TA's or 3000GT's... but i also love my IROC!!!

I dont know for some reason I love the looks of the 80's G-Bodies(Monte Carlo, Regal, Cutlass, etc)

 

To answer the original question; yes, you should beat him. Even if he has the 5.0 litre. Never heard of a type-CL though. What color is his car? Some of the regals had a 5.0 litre V8, but the Buick/Olds/Pontiac 305-307's were dogs. There are a few freak BOP 5.0's but even if his is one of them, you should whip him, and whip him good.......

i have driven my friends regal with the big all mighty 6 and im not gonna denie it but it had a little pep however he now drives a 90 cav gt 4banger with the 5speed and he believes the Cav will put a hurtin' on his big regal. I also no for a fact that my 86 rag bag 305 w/ the holley 600 would crack open the four barrel and leave that regal following a trail of oil. I know that i could also take that *** importRsloth homo any day that tune port stuff looks kinda rice like once you get under that hood and start playing with that O2 sensor and all that what not i tell you what import boy give me a call once you dropo all that economy bull**** you'll probably gain 40horse and shed 450lbs of usless **** my number is 513 752 6152 8601 bookhaven drive pierce twp oh see ya there bitch
