Ehhh.... I don't know dude. If his car is pure stock Neon R/T (a disgrace to the badge.) It may be able to run a 16.5 in the quarter. Your car maybe be able to run a 15.9 so do not get caught sleeping at the light. My brother had a LG4 with headers and a full exhaust on his car. 2.73 gear open diff that only went a 15.9.

TPI is the way to go? If it so great, why are all the 12 second and faster thirdgen's running something else like SuperRam or even Carbed? Just cause you own it, doesn't make it king. BTW, I know of a carbed 81 with a 305 running 14's (lower than yours)
. All he has is a stock internal engine with some bolt on goodies and has under $2k in it total. Not too shabby for not being a TPI (which is the only way to go).

Well I've taken a neon r/t in my 97 cav Z24 before so if u can take one of those which I think u could then u should take the neon good.
I dont think his neon is an R/T. As far as i can see the only mods he has is a hood bra, and 500 bux of subwoofer in the trunk.

Look out for Neon R/Ts! Couple weeks ago at the track, one whooped on me bad! (see sunfire post) The guy's car was all stock, and ran a best of a 16.2 i belive. Another guys auto Z24 with a flowmaster 40 series and no other mods ran Consistent 16.1s. Beware of the new breed of American rice cars! Just because we have V8s dosen't mean we're faster than everything with half our cyls! Go figure, my engine is the size of theirs combined, but I'm slower than both of them. I guess I still have the excuse of having a much heavier and older car.

im sorry come again??? what i remember saying is any TBI 305 auto car should be able to run a low 16 and if not than its in need of something serious be it a tune up or new rings. I said a 5 spd car in proper tune should be able to run around a 15.7, WS6formulas car ran 15.7 stock and thats with an auto, also NJSPEEDERS car ran a 15.8 bone stock with an auto. The guys who run 17 and 18 seconds are the ones with shot motors, u gotta remember that these motors arent all new so some maybe shot where as others arent.......imports get a life.......and a new paint job <font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">HrdRockA4305
