Chuck,
A 90 - 92 Z28 (of couse I talking about a 350) and if you are talking a TPI motor then the it would be different. I say different cause you could get away without a supercharger, and that is around $2500 new!
Now don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a SC but I like to get all I can out of a engine first then add a SC. And yes my setup still needs alot of work but that is a different story.
You would need new heads AFR 190's and a new cam something like a LT4 Hot Cam ( Duration, I think, 216/228). Along with that a new aftermarket (Edelbrock) intake manifold that is ported and a set of SLP runners with the seperator inside of them removed. Of couse you need to port the stock plenum and a 52mm throttle body wouldn't hurt. Or you could go with a superram or miniram instead of the stock plenum. This setup should give a nice high reving engine (around 6000 rpms maybe alittle higher) and a good torque curve.
Next you need SLP 1 3/4" headers and a good 3" cat back exhaust. Then you'll have all this power and need a good suspension and a tight chasis so sub frames will be needed and lower control arms, panhard bar and I suggest Spohn adjustable torque arm too for good low 60' launches. And good shocks.
Then the gears you want to say inbetween is 3.23 and 3.42's. A TPI system seems to do the best in here.
If you have a automatic tranny then a good torque convetor with a stall inbetween 2500 - 2800 rpms.
Now one thing to remember with a TPI motor is it has a comupter so you'll need a custom chip programmed for this setup.
I guess this setup is Traxion's(Prom board moderator) almost. But he has gotten into the 12's without a SC. He also did a GREAT review on his mods, I think, in the aftermarket product review board, do a search in there for his name and you'll find it.
Either way with a SC or without it is possible you just need money!
Good Luck!
