So...how would i fair against this?

My best friend's dad bought a 92 camaro rs about a year ago and it only has about 30k miles on it while mine has 141k w/ the mods below. If i were to race the other camaro (which only has a cat back, other than that it is bone stock), would i win, lose, or just be even? Just curious

------------------
1991 Camaro RS (Red)

PERFORMANCE
-Custom quad exhaust
-Edelbrock (well the bottom part at least) 14x3 open air element w/ 5" high K&N filter
-K&N X-stream lid

i am gonna say dead even. with your high mileage, your mods probably even the mileage issue out if that, so you will both be even i think.

If your car is in good tune, then the milage shouldnt be a factor too much.

What exactly does your "custom quad exhaust" consist of?

Unless you ditched the factory y-pipe and exhaust manifolds your "quad" exhaust isn't worth bupkiss over his catback setup. Your aircleaner mods won't amount to much either. Should be about even, you maybe having a slight advantage. Who knows though since general tune is a big factor. Just make sure you don't both get blown off the road by any civics during all this racing, lol.

Well..basically my "custom" quad consists of no muffler and to sets of pipes on each side running straight back..the two inside pipes connect somewhere in the middle of the outside pipes. Make any sense?

Well, I guess it would depend on a couple of things. Is your hood glass? If so you will have a wieght advantage on him...and that is as good as more horsepower. What rear ends do you and him have. If he has the 3.08 and you have the 2.XX, he will probably still beat you, or vice versa. Your engine having high miles could play a factor if it wasnt taken care of well. I say give it a shot, Im gonna put my money on you. Besides you look a lot cooler with that cowl hood
peace

The hood is fiberglass if thats what you're saying by "glass". In any event, we both have stock gears which should be 2.77 for me? And i'm assuming its the same for him as well. Thanx for putting the money on me. Next summer tho i HOPE to drop a 350 in my car so i'll have no problem by then. The only competition i should have will come from my buddy who is more than likely getting a grand prix gtp next year..right around the same time i get my engine, hopefully.

for one thing I don't think all rs are equall, just check out some of the stock sig times.

second: if you have an auto then you have 2.73s if you have a manual then 3.08s. is this car a vert, t top, or hard top?

hope this helps.

btw chips are great for hp, but you are swaping engines so that would probably be a waste.

Just a quick FYI, a t-top is not the same as a hardtop, not only in looks but handling. A hardtop is much stiffer structurally.
