I didn't know where to put this, but theres some kids at my school who drive 5.0 fox body mustangs. I was talking to one of them and he claimed that one of his friends can squeel through gears 1-4...Is this bs? I don't think i've ever heard of a car that could do that. Also, he also said that if this guy puts his car in reverse, revs it up and dumps the clutch, he can get the back end to bounce or skip off the ground at a slow pace. I don't believe him one bit, but since i'm only 16, I have limited knowledge on cars and I was wondering if anyone could tell me the truth.

Just tell the guy to keep bouncing the rear, yeah it can be done. But believe me that rear won't last long. If the Mustang is manual it might be possible to screech the tires thru 4 gears, just keep on the gas as you shift.

A freind of mine's old 92 would get rubber in 5th.... but if you've seen the tires on it at the time you'd understand why

yea it's possible. it might sound impressive, but it depends how it's done. If you get the tires spinning really good in first, you can quickly shift through the gears and keep the tires going. also check out what kinda of tires they are running.
making your rear hop is not impressive either. in fact it's a very bad thing. my 82 has a bad case of this and I'm fearing for my differentials life.

It's not all that hard to spin the tires though all the gears. My friend's 87' mustang can do it legitimately. But then again he's running 11.0 consistently so he's got the power to do it. But as being able to get the rear to hop that just means that he won't be spinning the tires through any gears after his rear end ****s the bed.

Lets all not forget that spinning tires means wasted power. I never thought bad wheel hop was cool, but what do I know. It will be funny when something breaks .

It's entirely possible to hit rubber in 4th gear if thats what you mean. If you mean keep a burnout going through 4th, I would call B.S. Most of my friends hit 4th gear at the track, but would never try to smoke the tire through 4th unless in the rain. With the right gearing most 5-speed Camaros, and Mustangs should be able too, but I think its more of a challenge to get a stick car to hook. I too am 16, but I know enough 20 and 30 year old guys too realize when someone my age is lying out their a$$.

Yea that cleared a lot up for me. TY guys. I got to witness him bounce his tires off the ground after school today. I was just about crying when I left. He got his tires to bounce 3 times, until it got traction, LOL. His car was shaking real violently, and all of a sudden THUNK, and it stopped. You could see his face go white. He parked his car and I went to go ask him wtf happened and he got pi$$ed at me lol. His car seemed to drive normally after that though.

I like tire spinning and I wouldn't do much to take that little bit of fun away, but bragging about spinning tires can only go so far. I had an 82 mercury zephyr that wasn't totally stock as tranny goes, but the 200 inline 6 was going thru alot of oil. but when I first got it, I could white smoke the tires, and until the last few months that it existed, I could bark second or third. We had an 82 subaru that could bark all three of its gear occasionally. Good cars. But that's nothing to brag about. Of course there was the delayed black mark war that I had with the 403 in the caddy. Once I left two 6-8 feet strips with the 235s at my workplace. Then a week or so later a 95 z28 pulls up to my workplace....

I could also leave clouds of smoke with my 85 cougar 302bbl. no mufflers and I think the rear wasn't original.

I once new a kid that had a dodge dart with a six cylinder in it. Not sure if it was a 4 speed or three, but either way he could set there and spin in any gear. Of course he had like a bottle of water and clorox with two water lines coming out of the inside of the trunk over each tire at the fender wells that would dump over his tires...IMPRESSIVE???....NOT.
