Welcome to the board!!!
Nice kill. I guarentee he was not expecting that out of a measly LS1!
With that mph you should be closer to mid tens, but that is a sweet car. My brother has a 1999 Camaro SS with bolt ons, 4.10's (12 bolt), and slicks and ran a 12.48 @ 110 with a 1.79 60'. I love that engine. Maybe some day I'll be in the 12's....
BTW that is cool you still have a 6 spd with your setup. By the time most people are where you are at, they either have an automatic or a 4 spd. See ya.

I'd think that if I had all the money for the modifications that were done, paying for a warranted item would be the least of my concern. Just my .02.

If I had $25k+ at my disposal, I think an LS1 would be something I'd strongly consider. The way those things run stock is amazing, but how they respond to simple bolt-ons is amazing...and this is coming from a 5.0 Mustang guy!

Just pulling your chain Unknown. My dad owns a 1997 GTS that I may get one of these days but I'd just as soon have LS1's power plant under my 3rd gen's hood. Good kill though!

Man.... you SUCK!!
That is like... the exact car i want... someday when i'm not a next to broke college kid! I'd like to try out an MMS SD421 car with a twin turbo setup someday... major PITA i'm sure but damn... talk about the ultimate car (for ME anyway, everyone has their own "ultimate car" in their head and that happens to be mine).

Anyway sweet kill, I'll bet he just thought you were some guy who thought his stocker was the fastest thing on the road.

Man that's a shame.. You beat him so bad that you couldn't even see the priceless look on the poor guy's face...

I can imagine this race in my head.... LS1.. Drool...

Seriously, i'm considering trading in my bird for a 98 z28.. I can get one for about $17000 around here, not bad for 300 HP and a 6 speed.. Also considering all the money i've dumped into my car already, I would rather have something thats going to last at least another 5-10 years...

I've seen a TransAm in magazines with a 422 "super duty" engine. Is this your car?

Nothing against LS1s...they are the pinnacle of GM's V8 designs...

BUT, they aren't the only way to go seriously fast. For those of you that don't wanna pony up 15,000+ (when I bought my Z, I coulda had a '99 Z hardtop with 32k for that), buy a clean '95 for under 10, spend 3 grand on a charger, and you are on your way for much less. I know the pure potential is greater for an LS1, but if some of you guys don't wanna wait that long for them to depreciate...

BTW, before some of you guys tell me I'm full of it, I do sell these cars new at a dealer...I ordered 5 '02 Firebirds, 2 of which I have already sold. My Formula and T/A 6 speeds on the lot do NOT feel faster SOTP versus my Z (and if you look at road tests, they are only about .3 sec faster 0-60), it really took the Ram Air for me to see noticeably more kick.

BTW, the first one I sold was a $35,294 black Firehawk 6 speed I Ordered with chrome wheels, Bilstein shocks, the 345HP SLP airbox that has become standard right around ordering time now, trophy mat etc. I took it out on a quick ride when it was fresh off the truck...damn Now THAT car felt notably quicker...with 60 extra HP it should!!

Oh yeah...it came in at 1PM on a Thursday and I sold it by 6
