Its not "Paint". Its a thick iron rich material with the consistency of plaster or spackle. It weighs a ton.

"paint"

so what happens if you are shot in the back? with the radar i mean...

What did he say to offend you?

Y.G.B.S.M means You Gotta Be S..ting Me.

He answered your question. The composition of the paint is indeed top secret, and extremely expensive. So expensive, in fact that you can't afford it. How do I know you can't afford it? because you are worried about 110.00 speeding ticket.

As others have said, the stealth nature of the aircraft actually owes more to the shape of the airframe than the paint. The Coating, not paint, absorbs some of the radar energy, while the shape deflects most of the remainder of the energy away from the emitting source. The result is the emitter does not get much return. So, You can get rid of all flat surfaces from your third gen, that would do more.

Stealth will do nothing for you when they use laser anyway.

BTW, I am a former USAF corrosion control guy, You know, Aircraft Painter.

Paint your car matt black, and conceal or remove reflective surfaces from the front of the car. That will decrease the strength of a laser return in the case of Laser. There have been tests that prove it too. The only fool proof method is a laser Jammer, and those are illegal. What is allowed, is up to the state. But I wouldn't be going and doing anything illegal to block it or the fines against you will make the speeding ticket look paltry.

Headlights, chrome, front license plates, turn signal markers all are very reflective. Just look at how well a license plate returns a laser beam from a pen laser. Same for light enclosures. They are designed to redirect light output forward of the car. All of that makes a car's return signal from a laser speed gun much more visible.

For radar reflection there is little you can do without adding weight, or changing the car so much that it wont' look like a thirdgen any longer. The big, flat slab front ends of thirdgens means that its pretty much a guaranteed radar return.

The first three things you said you started it right and the the last two.........showed your true self.

So here is two for ya:

1) A vet like you at your age hanging out in a street race section??.Yepper arrested development.
2)A user name like "uncle tom".....................that can be and is interpreted in many different ways.

Not my first rodeo.Un-armed.................nawwww.

Re: Steath Paint

The only thing crazy is asking where to get stealth bomber paint...

Your car has to absorb the radar energy and no reflect it back to the sender to show a mph figure - actually quite simple. And as others have mentioned the shape of a vehicle and also the material (or material covering it) gives a reflection (or not). Most of the military stealth systems use iron ball paint, which converts the energy to heat and lowers the radar cross section. The stealth shape removes the remainder of the radar signature.

But police radar is not nearly as sensitive and the right covering will probably give you radar invisibility. I remember reading in the 90's about some engineer who ran his Corvette in the Silver State race who made his own stealth paint that allowed him not to be picked up on radar for his speed during the race. I remeber the car looked stock otherwise - need to find the article...

Yes-what happened to this site??.A post that only means something to him only??.Look before you post next a American flag and break out in hail to the chief, there are a number of members on this site that really know what's up and how to act.But Vet or not there are some that are just plain out Ba$$es.

He knew what was wrong with his post when he started to post he was sorry that was misunderstood, but then even screwed that post up in the end. From the beginning he could have explained it better.

I have 0 tolerance for people who can't be civil. So again-he ant squat and to use his status as a vet is B.S.

Have to agree 100%....Yeah we could start with spelling Stealth properly! Then figure out why someone would even think that classified materials would even be available to the public, common sense, plain and simple....

Fries are awesome but usually I like them under a couple of hamburgers in garbage plate form. Although the commercials for the new BK fries do make me want to eat them.

This place really has changed...for the worse. I've been around here for quite awhile and it amazes me how people react. Thought the answer was pretty much on par with the question.

I have no clue what that means. Is it some sort of code?
Man,what kind of Canadian are you eh??.

You do know with your first comments I am crushed, will not be able to sleep for a week, pacing now, drinking pots of coffee at one time, and have a impulse to buy and throw out bandanas.Soooooooooo I hope your happy now.

Now my hands started to shake,I'm plucking out all my eye brows, ouch, ouch, make it stop, make it stop!!.

I challenge you come spring time at Cayuga to a backwards drag race.We both back onto the lights and race in reverse.
