Dust has setttled (388 Miniram Iroc vs LS1 Iroc)

Blue devil was called out for some mexico racing by our local dyno king.

H/C 388 Stroker Miniram Iroc makes "440" rwhp(T5 w/3.42 gears)

Full exhaust, CAI, tune LS1 Iroc makes about 370 rwhp(T56 w/3.73 gears)

*White LS1 Iroc("cam-only" + bolt-ons) makes 410rwhp

+Bonus footage. Enjoy:

Must not be a true 440 hp car then? That car should trap 120's. No way a bolt on ls1 is that quick

I agree. Vince's car should have done a lot better than that.

Re: Dust has setttled (388 Miniram Iroc vs LS1 Iroc)

why do i feel the blue car has more than 370? He walked vincent, and even the white ls1 had to really work through a few gears to get just his nose ahead of it at 2minutes in. Then all the other clips.. Something doesn't smell right to me.

You have to remember that these guys have a few "400 rwhp" TPI cars but struggle to trap 110mph in the 1/4. Vince had the highest dyno #s and made the call-out.

Blue car hasn't been on dyno after installing the headers so we're estimating. Will be dyno'd after installing a cam package.

White car has a medium sized cam but stock 3.23 gears that take him out of his powerband til the top of each gear.

Have you dyno'd on their dyno?

440 whp in 3500 lbs will trap mid 120's. Something aint right. I trap 119 at 392 whp on a hsr car and my buddy went 128-129 at 468 whp in a t56 miniram car

We haven't used their dyno. Looking at the video it looks like it's dyno'd open throttle body(no air intake) wonder what kind of restriction that is on the street.

Also, we run the 1/4 mile in 3000+ DA so can't really compare other tracks w/great DA. We would love some negative DA

My summer time da is 2000-2700 average. So its not to far off. We see 2 mph most of the time from summer da to fall winter da of 500-1000 average

Texas i used to see -1000! My ls1 car trapped 112 there and only 108 up in pa in 2000-2200 ish ft

No since to guess what Vincent car can do. That's a whole different roll there with that style racing.

Re: Dust has setttled (388 Miniram Iroc vs LS1 Iroc)

I didn't know this was here. Let's get the story straight. First race I was in forth gear in stead of second at 35-40mph. He can have that one. Second race I over revved second gear and had to drive around other cars. Not my cup of tea and got out of it. Third race against the faster white IROC got his *** whipped but they didn't post it. I wonder why. They only post their wins and not their losses. Oh by the way, my car weighs about 3800lbs with full interior and a 70lbs speaker box with 2 12in subs and the spare tire. Blue IROC weighs 3300-3400lbs with driver. Need more HP to pull the extra weight.

Re: Dust has setttled (388 Miniram Iroc vs LS1 Iroc)

Z28Fast1 was making good HP when he first put his car together. But of course now it's making well over 400whp with a lot of work and more tuning up to this point.

http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversion...l#post15166721
This is the HP numbers the blue IROC put down about 5 years ago. Word on the street is there's a cam in it back then.
http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversion...l#post15272150
So with my car, that was just a shakedown run. A little more throttle response tuning, put 3.73's back in, figure out how to install a better air intake and learn how to drive the car again. All of this will have better results.

Kudos to the Local Dyno King, too bad the battery died before that third race...

The white IROC had a camera too. What happen to it? They didn't want to show that race.

Re: Dust has setttled (388 Miniram Iroc vs LS1 Iroc)

vince thank you for the opportunity for lining them up next to me again.

great video. now my question is to vince what do you think bout the blue iroc.

first run blue and red iroc both got the hit and white iroc decided to chase . it shows at 0:42 white iroc reeled you in .

when you both ran he was unprepared because red iroc didnt honk it off/call it off, red iroc got the hit , white iroc still chased. blah blah ..

85k mile engine, Heres a pic of the stock gm cam when terr did his clutch install. sc3g fb people will inform you when he has an actual cam kit installed.

years back the first run ^^ i guess blue iroc and red iroc were a bit rusty with their driver mods. or maybe ls1 bolt ons formula out ran us because his car is "lighter" according to google.

What I mention about the first race is in post 12. Why stay in it if started off in the wrong gear. You know that! Where's the video of the white roc side by side? You don't want to show that one cause he got spanked.

To you this video is just an illusion and wont admit to the loss with the blue iroc. You didn't lose, you got spanked.

are you sure you weren't a previous mustang owner ?? You sure do come up with excuses for everything even at the track.

Sounds like Vincent needs a go pro with that fast car. They knew to video. The white ride top end by itself.

At the last sc3g irwindale outing. My car ran better times than you. And a true tpi car with less mods than you ran better times than you. you never lose vince. That's the truth.

I researched my old numbers an back then Vincent was around 7.90 at 92.. I was at 8.0 at 82 with a couple problems an with an auto. On the street the Sr. would be better for Vince. Vincent is lacking a lot of torque.

You picked the starting speed of 60 claiming you didn't want to shift from 2nd-3rd. The white Iroc reeled you in like a true 400 rwhp not a dyno queen.

All I hear is a bunch of excuses: don't bring slicks can't race from a stop, can't race from lower than 60, my exhaust is restrictive, etc.
Then after the race: "I was in the wrong gear, missed shift, car needs gears, car is too heavy... etc etc." I mean you have a purpose built stroker with ported/flowed Trickflow heads/Mini-Ram intake yet you are making excuses

If you want another shot bring your own go-pro, your wallet and leave the excuses at home.
