'68 Shelby Gt500 v. 91 Ram-air camaro

If both cars unmod, who would win...My line of thinking is that the Ram-air would, because of technological advantage.

nope

I'm not going to go into details, but, basically, no, the Shelby would win, hands down.

Shelby

Their is no replacement for displacement. The GT500 would win w/ no problem. It would either have a 428 CJ or a 428 Police interceptor under the hood.

91 ram-air camaro?
(do you mean 01..as in the 01 SS?...then its a different story! id put my $ on the 01 SS)

Car: 1981 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham 2dr Coupe
Engine: 403 Olds v8, bored .030 over

I've heard of 12 to 14 second times with a 68 GT5OO King of the Road. In that case, the car weighs 3700lbs(not a far cry from my LTD'S weight). It carries a 428 Cobra Jet, oringinal carb pulling 735 cfm. Over 400 hp, don't know if that's "gross" or not. Probably around 130 top speed. Hope that helps. Just compare that to your car and, hell, race him anyway. I have no information really about your car. Sorry, but I'm assuming you know a little about it and at least you have a source to go to. I can't find any Oldsmobile boards and I would be scared of any LTD boards. Bunch of 16 year old nerds driving their grand parents' car.

In that case (Its an 01). I would pick the Camaro to win. Stock 68 GT500's will hit high 13's at best, but of course they can easily be tuned/ modded (I was reading a book about them today actually, and have seen many of them run in person).
Most have a 428 Cobra jet under the hood.
LS1 Camaros can hit very low 13's on a good day.

It would probably be a close race on the street (factoring in driver skill, mods, etc...)
