building sleeper c4 with hsr 383 stuck on cam choice
comp cams 292xfi w/113 lsa keeps coming up on research for efi computer controlled. 383ci / hsr, 210cc heads, Short block is 11 to 1 cr with 3k TC and stock rear end with modified 700r4.
tall 2.59 rear with low first 3.06= 7.92 final drive ratio.
previous ecm tune was for 350 w/ported tpi and lt4 hotcam. was told not to start new engine with that memcal.
hsr likes narrow lsa but ecm wants wider one. Just a street car but would like to get it in to the mid 12s if possible. Any suggestions welcome

Ecm does not care. Only thing that may be affected is closed loop tuning, especially at idle on big cams but that can be somewhat accounted for by adjusting the o2 swing points or in 8d, the closed loop enable rpm
If you want a sleeper go to the 280xfi cam. It wont sound radical like the 292. The 292 is a big cam and is more for 400+ inch motors. The 280 with afr 210's will make power to 6500+. 113 lsa is fine for better manners but it would like a 109-110 but it would sound much more racey. Even on a 113 lsa you will hear some cam chop

Re: building sleeper c4 with hsr 383 stuck on cam choice
appreciate the help here. ordered the less aggressive cam profile. Hope this one will work well in combo. XR282HR-10 has 230/236 w/.510-.520 lift . adv dur 282/288 like the 110 lsa. Hsr 383 hopefully will tune ok. Anyone have good tuner that works with efi memcal adapters? thanks Orr89, 8 second street car? really? that's great!

That will work nice. It will sound good, bit of lope depending on your exhaust. Run with 1.6 rockers
I used to be in houston lol i tuned a very similar combo for a guy there
