I have the funds to finally start my build for 89 irocz, ive always like lt1 from 4th gens and im stuck with it. The theoretical build i had in mind was the lt4 heads ported/polished and lt4 intake with cc306 cam, and uprgrading for springs ive heard the beehives are good, not sure where to go for rest and needing ideas, and if this would even work

 

In the Corvette the LT1 was 300 HP rated.. The full factory built LT4 was listed at 311 HP IIRC. Might do about as good by just upgrading the LT1 for a lot less money? Some years ago I bought a totaled low mileage 93 Z28 for about what you're planning but the old L98 runs too good to yank it - so far anyway.

 

The LT4 in a Vette was 330 horse. With a better cam you should have a little more. Sounds like fun!
