2001' Cobra vs 84' H.O.
I owned a third gen. 1992 RS. Yes it was wider. I hated that, if it didn't have power everything I have no idea how I would have gotten over to roll up the windows/lock the door. Yes "wider is better" but with a IRS rear end you are not going to out handle a Cobra. Now about the Cobra looking goofy...hey thats your opinion. Don't get me wrong a mint 1992 Z28 would be a sight to see but how many are there on the road? Not many.
A Mustang isn't made for someone that doesn't like to see around the car in front of them. If you like the low roofline to where you hit your head all the time (like I do in my RX-7) thats your call. Me personally I like the look of MY Cobra. Even with its "goofy" roofline. And the shifter is made that way. Its so that you can reach it easier. And if you get an aftermarket one its not near as bad as the stock one. Some aftermarket ones even are straight. And 330hp tell me where I said you have crappy interior! Don't put words in my mouth, I said the Cobra has nicer interior than your car. Which it does. Its better leather, it has a glove box which I know not many thirdgen owners know about.
(I hated that), the console has more room, and we don't have that ****ing dent in the passenger side floor board! (also hated that) Bottom line which you and others keep looking over/avoiding is the 2001 Cobra IS nicer than your car (in a newer perspective). Oh, and the exhaust tone on the Cobra with an aftermarket exhaust! :hail: :sillylol: Just race him and let us know what happens!

ok...
1st: to each his own. I do not like leather at all. Just me, if I had a choice I would get suede like the Audi S'4's
2nd: Low roofline = hitting your head???? only if you are like 6'5 or taller. Mustangs cramp me with no leg room (side to side) and I'm 6'0
3rd: I know you are going to call personal preference on this one, but my car sounds better than a Cobra with a borla on it, or a bassani x-pipe with flowmasters ( friends supercharged 95').
My car doesn't even sound like flowmaster, I don't know why, it just sounds mean. When I drive by on the street in 2nd or 3rd @ like 2500, 3000 rpm, I set off alarms, it sounds good.
Don't mean to toot my own horn but it sounds awesome. People tell me all the time that I should let them drive it just so I can hear how bad *** it sounds driving by. It sounds...( gasp! ) better than it runs. I wish the motor could back up it's note a bit more ( sounds like a 12 second car.)
I do intend to race him, and I will tell you guys what happens, IF THE GUY STOPS BEING A PUS$Y!!!!

I'm short so low roofs are no problem for me. Even when I sat in a Lamborghinni at a car show I still had plenty of head room. I know some of you tall guys have issues with headroom. Sometimes I see people driving around and their head is practiacally touching the headliner.
By the way, I never said I didn't like the looks of Mustangs. I wish thirdens were not so wide in the back. I have seen a few aftermarket wings that would look good, but the problem is that not many of them are wide enough to look right.

Boy you guys fight alot! HEHE
The Mustang is newer, you cannot compare a newer car to an older car as far as spending $, because then you could make a Civic out run a new Cobra.
Plus you cannot compare a new car to an old car when we talk about comfort, the new car is more sophisticated, and just plain newer!
Fighting over personal preferences is also a losing situation, but I will admit, and so will my cousin and two friends (all three own 3rd gens), the Mustang sounds better (true duals) and the interior is nicer (I do have 2001 GT seats in it)!

True duals???
Yeah it is nice to have.
Especially on a thirdgen.
Ever heard a good true dual system on a third gen???
Go to the exhaust section of the boards, check out Willie's exhaust. I hope he posts a sound clip soon, it's gonna be one of the best sounding systems we'll ever hear. I've heard a Berger camaro, (that's where ******* design originates) , but they don't run 12 flat, I'm sure Willie's sounds as bad as they come.

I don't know, a set of Mac mufflers, with an off road H-pipe, and longtubes sounds pretty good, with an X-303 cam!!!
I do like my Flowmaster 2-chambers, but I may be doing 1-chambers with custom intermediates!!! That would sound pretty bad-a$$, and then I would get a cat-less H-pipe!
